My other dance backgrounds include Chinese dance, some Hip Hop, and my first ballroom coach was more of a Modern/Jazz dancer... these varied training has helped me develop good movement quality. At the same time, I am the kind who will pore over the syllabus books and run drills over and over again to make sure I get my technique down right.

I used to dance at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and I also founded the ballroom team at Johns Hopkins University. I am currently dancing with the MIT team, since I recently moved to Boston :)

Into college, I was a competitive gymnast, which helped me to develop body awareness and body confidence. After gymnastics, I danced with an contact improv/improvisational dance group and did authentic movement for 10-15 years.

I started ballroom dance lessons last fall (2022). Since I love to dance and am comfortable in my body, I am a quick study, picking up new movement languages fairly quickly. While my main focus is Argentine Tango, I am enjoying the Waltz, American Tango, Foxtrot, Rumba, Cha Cha, Salsa and East Coast Swing with a little Salsa thrown in for fun.

Recently, I learned and performed (bronze level with some silver patterns) Argentine tango within 6-7 weeks of starting lessons. I am looking forward to competiting in May.

My favorite dance is salsa which is what I have the most experience in. I took classes for a couple of years and I take various workshops when I can. I also like other Latin dances such as cha cha and bachata in that order. I know those dances a little but not as much as I know salsa. I'm also open to learning other dances. Besides dancing, I work out 3-4 days a week work 40 hrs and try to enjoy as much free time as possible. For hobbies, I'm into home automation and electronics. My name is Luisa. I dance International Standard on Champ level with rich competitive experience. I am 175cm, slim, professionally looking on the floor, as well as hardworking person. Recently, I turned from Pro to Amateur to continue my dancing carrier in senior category.

I do most of the ballroom dances; swing, foxtrot, west coast swing, salsa, cha cha, samba, bachata, Argentine tango, American tango, rumba, lindy hop, foxtrot, waltz, viennese waltz, quickstep, meringue, bolero, country two step, and night club two step.

I like many dance styles and generally prefer dancing in a place where people are there to dance socially (on the dance floor or taking lessons) rather than club dancing. But sometimes it's fun to do a little salsa, hustle or West Coast Swing around a live band, because diversity is fun. I enjoy ballroom, Argentine tango, and West Coast swing, and my attitude is: when it comes to dancing, it's all good. One of my favorite dances these days is country two-step, because it's hard to take yourself too seriously in that dance and it tends to bring out a lighthearted, chivalrous flavor to sharing the music together.

I used to compete in amateur open levels in International Standard and Latin. I took a break from dancing for 13 years and now and am looking to dance again.

I started out learning East Coast Swing. Quickly progressed to Lindy Hop. Have had several practice partners along the way and found that to be the most effective way to improve. I’m currently exploring the Ballroom dances, Zydeco, Balboa, West Coast Swing, and Salsa.

My favorites are Lindy Hop, balboa and Zydeco — in large part because I love the music. It makes me want to dance. I also love those communities of people here in the Bay Area dance scene.

People tell me I’m very light on my feet and a naturally good follow, who is fun to dance with. Frame and connection are priorities. And my timing is very good. Spinning and dips are super fun for me. I’m athletic and light so jumps and lifts are also fun with the right partner. But mostly it’s the chemistry and flow, along with the fundamentals of connection and movement, that make the magic happen in a good partnership.

10-dancer of about 14 years. Recently moved to the Austin (TX) area from New York City. Looking to get back into the competitive dance scene. My recent trainers are Ina Jeliazkova, Olga Tsikalyuk, Frantseska Yordanova, to name a few.

Dancing bachata for just under years, mostly Modern with goals to develop Sensual this year and add Traditional footwork. I will add salsa and zouk once I am fluent with bachata, so I am open to working on those now as well.

I have many tango instructional DVDs to study from in order to get details that often get missed in classes, as well as much material from ongoing workshops with top tango dancers.

Other stuff: I am a financially stable entrepreneur, college educated, hyper-cultured, dyed in the wool New Yorker who has traveled to over a dozen countries. I sing and play musical instruments. I am high tech, but also high touch. I am not a kook, a flake, or a crazy person. I adore Bach and the B52s. I believe that boredom is mostly a function of lack of imagination. Looking for someone to practice and train with their level not so important if their willing to put time in.

Someone who can put in at least 3 days a week in about 2 hours each be perfect the more days the better.

Have taught in past

Salsa/hustle/WCS/Bolero/Cha Cha/Bolero/Arg. Tango/Waltz/ECS will be main dances want to work on . Also will do a little of others.

I try to eat healthy and workout 3 - 4 days a week

I have huge collection of steps from past and video would want to work on .

Willing to relocate to warmer climate in near future.
