I'm Looking For
I am looking for dance partners to go to clubs/parties/festivals in Florida and South West - US region. Mostly interested in EDM, but open to suggestions and invitations. I am an experienced rave dancer - high energy - I dance in many styles - I don't know if I have "a style" that I dance to most of the time? Rave dance? It it a bit on the wild side but very organized. I like to dance standing making circles, jumping in sync and then flow and flow for hours. I dance with my feet, arms and body; I am not into spinning on the floor kind of dance (that would be break dancing). I do enjoy watching what kids come up with and new styles emerging on you tube. There are many great ones to learn from, I have been learning to shuffle lately from the videos, it is fun, it looks really cool, and certainly it is a style that did not exist in the 90's!! Have been to many parties all over the country in the past 20+ years in my raving experiences, but not in the past few years. That is why I am here to try to find people to go dance with and dance till the last DJ leaves. There is a movement spreading out called "day raves" parties - during the day on the weekends. I have not been to one of those and it looks promising. As for EDM genre it all depends who is playing really. With the internet it's easy to find samples of who is playing to find out if its danceable.. At home I am comfortable listening to Deep House, D&B, Jungle, Acid House, Minimal House, Electro, Tech, Tech-House, Minimal Tech. Some Trance is OK, even Happy Hard Core is good for those inexplicable moments of complete mental and intellectual meltdowns (somehow it has this strange ability to clear up a mind in agony and make sense of the world again). I am into many other forms of music, from classical European masters and opera to 80's rock, but for dancing I know nothing more fun then Electronica. Maybe because it is continuous with a deep bass and these many layers of rhythmic goodness.. continuous for 12,14, some times 48 hours, it's just so easy to get into a "zone" and really dance. Any dancers out there looking for an adventure?
