More About Me
Growing up in a lower-middle class family of seven, my parents were never able to enroll me in very many extracurricular activities, due to financial constraints. Now, as an adult, I have decided that I would like to live my dream of learning to ballroom dance. So, in August 2010, I enrolled in weekly ballroom dancing classes at a local dance studio in Batesville, AR. In December 2010, my teacher introduced me to the world of social ballroom dancing in a club in Little Rock, AR, where I now go on Friday nights when my daughter's extracurricular high school band schedule permits. Personally, I feel that I pick up dances quite easily. Also, my teacher says I am a very good follower. My favorite dances are the Waltz and Foxtrot, and I would very much like to learn the Viennese Waltz, the Argentine Tango, and the Quick Step. If someone out there will just have a little faith in me, I am very willing to learn. I just need to find the right partner---one who complements me and I, him!
I'm Looking For
First of all, I am in search of a partner who likes to dance just for the sheer enjoyment of it. Secondarily, I am searching for a partner who is quick to offer CONSTRUCTIVE criticism but is, on the other hand, non-judgmental. And why? Because he at one time took a walk in my novice shoes. Obviously, my partner would need to be a seasoned veteran with a skill level that supersedes mine. He would also need to tactfully recognize my shortcomings but at the same time hone my strengths. On the long term, I would like my partner and I to be able to anticipate each other's moves---to move as one entity on the dance floor. As my skill level increases, I yearn to build memories of many memorable nights where I spend more time gliding across the dance floor than sitting idly by at my table.
