More About Me
I have taken private lessons in American Smooth and West Coast Swing for about five years and a great many ballroom and swing group classes. I've also taken lots of dance workshops and go to West Coast Swing conventions a couple of times a year. I'm a serious student both of ballroom and West Coast Swing and am very eager to find a skillful and reliable practice partner to work on either or both dances with. In the case of West Coast Swing, I have a great many WCS DVDs that I'd like to have someone to study and practice with me. If you'd also like to attend some classes and lessons with me, that would be great but at a minimum I'd like someone to practice once a week with. My main goal is excellent social dancing but I have performed a couple of times. I'm not really very interested in competing but if that is your thing I would do my best to support you in developing those skills and possibly would be willing to compete with you if the process didn't take more time than I have to devote to dance. It is my hobby and I also have lots of other responsibilities that I have to fulfill and have a very demanding professional position so I don't get off work until 6 or 7 p.m.
I'm Looking For
I'm looking for a partner to practice moves and routines learned in American Smooth classes and West Coast Swing classes (and possibly take occasional evening classes together to have a common instructional base). I'd also like to practice some instructional DVDs of West Coast Swing routines. I'd like to find someone who can practice in the East Bay Area (Berkeley, Albany, Kensington, El Cerrito, Oakland, Richmond, Emeryville but could also go out to Orinda, Lafayette, or Walnut Creek. I lead a very busy professional life and can usually only spare time once a week or on the weekend. If you are a serious dancer I'd love to meet you and see if we would be good practice partners.
