More About Me
I'm a conservative, Christian, square dancer primarily, though I have done some round dancing and even some Country/Western line dancing at square dances. I've done ballroom but only in 8th grade in school for about a week in gym class, shortly before graduation. I was on a cruise in 2013 where a lady needed a partner for the beginner salsa lesson I went to watch, so I joined in and I did the swing lesson they did another day on the same cruise. Was it East Coast Swing, West Coast Swing, or some other Swing? I don't know, I did it on a cruise ship in the Caribbean somewhere. :-D I'd love some more opportunities to learn more. I belong to a square dance club in Downers Grove and square dance in the Chicagoland area and have danced in Indiana and Wisconsin, as well as having danced at the Illinois (most since 1987,) Wisconsin (all but one since 2003,) Michigan (2012,) and Iowa (2013) State Conventions and most of the National Square Dance Conventions since 1986 (though I didn't actually dance at the NSDC until 1988.) I do not go to other types of dances currently, nor do I belong to any other such dance clubs, halls, etc., since I don't really care to go to those places "alone," though if I had a partner to go with, I'd love to learn more and go out dancing more to other kinds of dances.

I'm Looking For
Good, younger, single, female square dancers as well as those interested in other types of dances I may or may not know yet. I don't mind dancing with older women, but they're usually easier to find anyway. I'll square dance with pretty much anyone of any age since I started at a young age myself and know how some adults would stear clear of my siblings and me, as well as other family club members because we were probably "too young to be any good" - in actuality, they probably wouldn't have been able to keep up anyway - I think that ultimately resulted in my whole family finding the better dancers at larger dances / conventions anyway. :-) (I think my 2 y/o niece is even itching to dance with her uncle.) However, I would prefer those around my age or younger. After dancing for so long, I'm getting tired of those who have been as well and still can't dance. Everyone makes mistakes (I do a lot as well,) but there's certain stuff that just annoys me - in most cases, I'd rather dance with a newbie instead because their attitude is more of "I don't know" rather than "I'm not wrong" and I'm therefore happy to help them. A square that breaks down may still be having fun; a square that stands still for most of the tip... isn't. That said, if you even closely match all/most of my "seeking" selections above, I'd be happy to discuss dancing many of the dances, maybe even those I haven't marked once I have a reason to check into them. Just see the rest of the details above for more, I suppose. ;-)
