More About Me
I've been taking classes at Arthur Murray for almost a year, and I love the smooth dances: waltz and foxtrot, as well as polka. I also enjoy hustle. I am a Bronze I or II level for most of these dances and I'm working towards a full bronze level. I'm looking for someone with a keen interest in vintage dance events, especially Victorian, "Jazz Age"- Art Deco 1920s, and 1970s/Disco eras, and the accompanying dances (e.g., Charleston, Balboa, Virginia Reel, Waltz Quadrilles, Polka, Hustle). I travel to California several times a year to attend events in the L.A./Pasadena area around these themes and I'd love to attend with someone who would like to experience this with me. These are costume events, and a ton of fun! I am only interested in social dancing and training/practice, not competitions.
I'm Looking For
Experience not necessary, but love of dressing up in costume and enthusiasm around learning social dancing of these eras is welcomed. :) I am looking for someone who is patient, gracious, has a sense of humor. Wants to learn and have fun with this "Cloud Atlas" era-hopping gal. Bonus would be someone interested in traveling to a vintage event in California (I am open to other events in the Twin Cities as well, or possibly other cities). Looking for a practice partner in the Twin Cities area, as well as someone who might want to meet up prior to a vintage event, practice for a day, and then attend an event with me. Looking forward to our next dance!
