More About Me
My background started when I took gymnastics for 6 years. Then I took a Congo class in 4th grade. group in San diego really start ballroom until college, where Over 3 years I leaned the basics of many dances. I also took ballet for a year and some months, tap one semester and jazz one semester. After I graduated I got married and had my husband take a latin dance class for a semester, as well as learning Argentine Tango. I divorced and took a few random dances at the community center in Oakland. After a few years of moving to Virginia, I was asked to audition for Ferocity Dance Company and Was put in on the amateur team, competitive. From that day i got really into dancing for a year, taking Bollywood, Bachata (like sensual and dominican most), Salsa on 1 and 2 with ladies styling footwork workshops. I didnt make the advanced Lindy hop team but Im intermediate wanting to learn aerials. I also want to learn aerials for salsa also. I also committed myself to flamenco every week, did some more Argentine Tango classes and had a private ballroom instructor named Uttara at Dance with Penache working mostly on Rumba American- Smooth, Cha-Cha, and Salsa where we learned almost all the bronze moves.
Now I have been in reno for a couple months. I have been learning virtually with Cecilia Villalobos (aka DC Salsa Queen) we are learning Afro-Cuban movements, Rhumba Yambu, Salsa on 1, and dominican bachata. I am interested to learn the Samba and Jive. I am looking for someone close as I do not own a car. I think Reno radius of about 1 hour (by car or by flight) would be great for at least 4 hour sessions once a week if u
Live in Sacramento, San Diego, las Vegas, San Francisco. If you live close to Reno, Id like to attend socials with you, perhaps take private lessons together and practice 2-3 times a week
I'm Looking For
I am looking for someone close as I do not own a car. I think Reno radius of about 1 hour (by car or by flight) would be great for at least 2-4 hour sessions. San Diego, las Vegas, San Francisco may work out also. I really want to practice technique and choreograph routines using a collective of several Latin Dance styles. Or if you are into competition, we can work on that also. I learn quickly and I practice. I also would prefer my partner to be 5’6” - 5’8, very motivated and excited to dance and someone who might know more than me. I love Latin dances (Rhumba, Salsa on 1 or 2, dominican and sensual bachata, chacha, jive) flamenco, Argentine Tango, and apparently afro-Cuban and rhumba Yambu
