More About Me
I grew up like most little girls, taking classes at a local studio and in school, where I danced mainly contemporary and jazz. I am Peruvian and also danced marinera, and worked toward the goal of competing but that fell through in my teens. I would love to pick up marinera again if I could ever hope to find a partner. More importantly I actively train and compete pro-am in American Rhythm and here is where I'd like to strengthen my technique. I need to practice, A LOT, because this year was such a sh*t show and I've done very little dancing. I miss dancing terribly.
I'm Looking For
While I dance Smooth and Rhythm (and some Latin and Social Latin) I'm really hoping to improve in Rhythm. I'm more than happy to practice anything else occasionally. I'm looking for a lead partner who is either at my level or better; unfortunately I am not available to practice with someone below my level at this time. I am not afraid to dance with more advanced partners and I am good with corrections. What I'm seeking is someone with whom I can rebuild my stamina and work on my technique. I am a bit shy so I want a partner who can help me loosen up--so basically I'd like an easy going partner who mostly wants to have fun but is structured and understands the importance of technique as well. Height is not a huge issue for me, I can dance with pretty much anyone. I have lots of free time lately so schedules are flexible.
