More About Me
I've been an Arthur Murray dance student for 5 years, and on and off for ten due to my grandmother being a student and teacher when I was a preteen. I dance American style rhythm and smooth, as well as west coast swing and some country-western dances. My top five favorite dances are Tango, Viennese Waltz, West Coast Swing, Cha Cha, and Samba. I have been in two local showcases and performed one choreographed routine so far (#brokecollegestudent mood, anyone?), but I hope as I advance in my career and dancing I can perform more and eventually compete in bigger competitions!
While I would love to compete someday, I am in a place at the moment where dancing is a hobby I happen to spend a lot of time and money on. I'm sure others can relate, especially now! So mainly, I'm just looking to get out of the house and get moving again with someone who might be looking for the same.
I'm Looking For
With the pandemic, my studio is pretty much closed down and I have no one to dance with socially. I'm looking for someone friendly who also dances not just because they have goals they want to meet but because they love it with their whole heart. While the world is falling apart, when I'm not working all I want to do is dance. Hopefully this website helps me connect with someone who feels the same?
My current level at my studio is Bronze III, which falls somewhere between beginner and intermediate 1 on this website, but if a higher level partner would like to practice and give me a challenge I'd absolutely live for it. I respond well to a stronger lead when I am following and I CAN lead, but I would need practice to get used to it again! Generally, I'd love someone I can laugh with and build a friendship with while we work on what we love.
