More About Me
I've been dancing since i was a child, solo styles as a child, partner dancing as an adult. I love moving to music, any music. I have taken many classes but was never interested in going the professional / competitive route - my goal is making the experience as enjoyable as possible, both for me and for my dance partners. (And i would like the same consideration in return.)
As a follow, i really enjoy having my "listening" (following) skills put to the test. Most of my partner dancing experience is "walking" dances like blues, kizomba, tango - dances that require a high degree of lead follow communication, but that also give a lot of room to play. For me, learning and trying different genres is a way to build up vocabulary so that I can "speak" with anyone, on any dance floor.
I'm Looking For
I moved to somewhere without opportunities for dancing, and i miss it. I would love to meet someone local to practice with once in a while. I could be open to traveling for weekend dance events & classes.
I am primarily a follow but would be very open to learning how to lead & practicing that. Could be a 2 way street i.e. two follows practicing their leading skills on each other. I am very experienced as a follow, but a newbie as a lead.
Dancing is a hobby. It can be sensual sometimes but it is 100% not romantic for me, and never will be.
