More About Me
My Latin dance journey began about a decade ago, inspired by a close friend from Colombia who had an infectious passion for dance. My motivation was simple yet profound: to join her in the joy of Latin social events and dance with confidence.
What keeps me captivated in the world of Salsa and Bachata is the enchanting musicality that these dances offer. The intricacies of leading in these dances, especially from a lead's perspective, provide an ongoing challenge that I relish.
However, it's not just the dance itself that I love; it's the vibrant energy and creativity of the people who participate in Salsa and Latin dance. The Latin dance community's sense of fun and spirit fuels my passion, making every dance event a memorable experience.
One of the most memorable moments in my Salsa dance instruction was when Edie, my instructor, shared valuable wisdom with us Leads: "Your primary goal is to master your Salsa lead skills so that your partner feels beautiful dancing with you. You lead her during a dance to showcase how beautiful she is." This advice was invaluable in making us better Salsa leads and more enjoyable for our dance partners.
As a returning dancer after several years, I currently consider myself at a beginner-intermediate level 1. I've attended many dance schools, completed many Salsa and Bachata group and private lesson sessions. I'm actively refreshing my memory through group lessons and private lessons when I find partner(s) to participate in lessons and dance events with me.
My goal is to find dance partners who want to join me in dance instruction and weekly Salsa and Bachata dance events so I can re-attain my skills as an intermediate-level social dancer.
I'm Looking For
In the short term, I aim to connect with dance partners who share my enthusiasm for learning and practicing social Salsa and Bachata dance events that are held locally in the downtown St. Petersburg area.
We'll dance together outdoors at the St. Pete Pier first Saturday Latin dance event and at indoor events at the Gulfport Casino Ballroom, and at clubs like Steep Street St. Pete.
Prospective partners should be available monthly to participate in dance events and classes.
