More About Me
I started with square dancing in middle school, then joined a local square dance club in 2017. The next year, I started taking round dance lessons, which is a social cued version of ballroom and club dancing where everyone is dancing the same routines and is being told what to do by a cuer. I started teaching and cueing round dancing in 2021/2022 (coming out of the Covid pandemic). Between 2024 and 2026, I had to take a brief hiatus from my dance community, and in turn began taking ballroom lessons at Aria Ballroom, as well as with an Argentine Tango group in Greenlake. In May 2026, I returned to my former dance community while continuing with my ballroom and tango lessons. It is my intention to eventually be a full time round dance instructor and cuer.
I'm Looking For
I am looking for a young woman who is of a similar age to me and loves dancing. I am hoping she will eventually be willing to help me teach classes, but I’m fine if we just start out getting to know each other and practicing by ourselves and/or attending classes together. I’m not necessarily looking for someone with dance experience, but that certainly wouldn’t hurt. If you don’t have experience, then I am willing to teach you as long as you are. Ok with that. Preferably, I would want my dance partner to be shorter than I am (I am 5’8” for reference), and certainly not taller than me. The taller a dance partner is, the harder it is to accomplish any sort of underarm turn or hold a good frame in my experience. Hope to find someone soon!
