More About Me
I started dancing when I was 12 at Fred Astaire; Working the parties on Friday nights. My parents are studio owners. I grew up in the dance business. I have taught on and off since I was 17. I have danced in many regional and national Fred Astaire events both Professionally and Pro/Am with a multitude of students and professionals. My previous partner and I were able to win Closed Smooth at CCDC. We travelled regionally mainly but occasionally nationally to different "independent" competitions and were building a name for ourselves. Outside interferences and vision alignment were the main reasons for the end of the partnership. I am excited to begin a new venture!
Currently I am seeking a serious professional female partner to begin practicing regularly (3-5 times times per week) in Closed Smooth and Closed Rhythm at Fred Astaire Illinois and National competitions at least 2 times before developing routines and competing in Rising Star and Open Divisions. The goal would be to participate in the top regional and national NDCA regulated competitions, all the Fred Astaire Illinois regional and national competitions, and any others that we would like to promote and support. This is not expected at first, but is the goal. I work at the Fred Astaire in Mokena, IL. We have both Fred Astaire and independent coaches that come in regularly, and will work with us as professionals. Many will be paid for by the studio, but any and all expenses incurred will be split. I have coaches that are my favorite, but am open and excited to hear about and develop new relationships and a regular schedule to be able to see long term success.
Relocation and employment for my partner are a possibility. However, it is highly unlikely that I will be relocating. I have developed a student body that is funding my lifestyle. I am willing to discuss the potential, but there are definitely expectations and stipulations that would have to be met and required.
I am looking forward to seeing what comes of being on this site. I am excited about growing myself and those who I associate with. I have aspirations of managing and owning a school in the near future but am willing to put that on hold for the time being if a professional partnership blossoms into what I hope it will. I want to grow my professional dancing ability right now. If there is space for the business acumen to be grown along side it, wonderful, but I am prioritizing dancing while my body is capable.
I'm Looking For
I am looking for a partner who is passionate, structured, organized, and disciplined about improving their own dancing ability. They are confident, ambitious, and motivated to learn and compete. They are independent and capable of learning choreography and developing technique on their own and have a willingness to spend time outside of our practice time to grow in confidence in their own part. Meaning they aren't reliant on their partner to do their routines. They bring creativity, musicality, expression, healthy communication and interpersonal skills to the partnership. They are looking to see success competitively and are willing to stay focused.
I have a healthy student body and am not looking for another student to be my partner.
