More About Me
I love to compete, but I'm more about the everyday practice than anything else. Those fleeting moments of perfect connection are always the highlight of my day, and sustain me through the more common "less than perfect" moments.
I social dance just about everything, but my focus is International Standard -- for competition. My previous partner and I won 2 categories of Novice at the 2010 Nationals, so now dancing PreChamp/Champ. I take lessons 2-4 hours/week with Tomas and Aira, and work with other coaches another 2 hours/week.
I'm Looking For
My partner of 6 years has to stop dancing due to a stress fracture in her foot. I'm looking for an *experienced* competitive dancer who understands the importance of good technique (and is willing to work on it). At the same time, she understands that technique alone isn't very inspiring to watch, and is willing to take risks in order to really dance. My ideal partner can articulate aspects of my lead that don't work for her (as well as things that do), and will have the confidence to give me that feedback. And it would be great if she were 35+ (or 45+!). But most of all, she won't need to be reminded to smile when she's dancing -- even during practice occasionally ;-)
