More About Me
Thrilled at discovery: from new dance steps to the leading edge in most fields--experimenting and synergizing with my partner. While I'm silver level, I have had advanced coaching and taken amateur 1st places in Rhumba, Cha Cha Cha, Samba & Jive in neighboring cities. Since last year I've begun to take regular blocks of lessons (WCSwing & NiteClub2Step)and whatever a nifty teacher that comes to town and gets a class together for... (quick-step, waltz, tango, salsa, hustle). I've been out of the regular comp & showcase scene and getting some tune-up coaching after having gotten blurry on probably everything except hogging the local GR singles' dance floors in mild showoff mode every weekend.
I am alive to the idea world, (not the dry pedantic sort of intellectual), and aesthetics (of the bright & healing kind of fine arts) a Renaissance generalist, having been on the quest for truth, beauty and goodness in most of the traditional fields (art, philosophy, science and spirituality) and many of the alternative avenues and metaphysics--hence my becoming a lacto-veggie since pre-teen, a yoga meditator, and later studied Waldorf pedagogy, energy healing, bio-acoustics, massage, neutraceuticals, vegetarianism, Anthroposophy, Arica, Landmark Communication, ufology, spiritual science, wholistic studies, appropriate technology, listening to CoastToCoastAm, and NewDimensionsRadio etc. as well as hobbies of reading, biking, inline skating, photography, hiking, swimming, making & visiting fine arts...in between the dancing of course! ;^)
I'm Looking For
I'm searching for an all around “matching” partner to glide with a man who is 5’10” & 155 lbs, medium build, and fairly athletic--a vervy woman for dancing and other sharings. I really appreciate an educated person who also has a penchant for the fine arts and can carry her end of an intellectual conversation and who is generating a spiritually healthy vibe (for which reasons I have become a vegan, and a meditator, do flower-essence work and utilize other subtle balancing resources). I'm trying to get more grounding by doing things like landscaping my yard (I'm way behind after the storms keep taking down trees & branches), and experimenting with mobile square foot gardening, building sculptures & taking painting lessons from my mother.
I can fix up nicely, am personable & presentable and am still young looking and fit for my age. As I am shifting my career I am not as able to flit off to distant places that freely right now, unfortunately. I am able to rise to the top of most classes and cut firm, solid dynamic position movements--not just going through the motions. "Can," being the operative word...when I feel confident of what I'm doing or in flow--just to distinguish from those who will never pull off a single, correct dynamic Waltz step. I'm not that interested in competition though am a bit of a show off. I only did competitions to have the opportunity to work with a top national level coach. My partner-to-be will track on my riff thru catching a unique keyword or two which will crop up in searches on similar venues which interest "vegetarians" & other "spiritual singles" & thereabouts pick up on my communication particulars. So, I hope that gives you that clue as well as an idea of what I'm currently doing in my dancing; though as above conditions changed, so did my dancing goals.
