More About Me
My main and preferred dance at this point is lindy hop, with the requisite smattering of bal, shag, charleston, etc. I'm a big fan of Argentine tango as well, and I like to go to the milongas downtown.
I learned ballroom back in college and love social ballroom dancing, but it's hard to find (ballroom dancers seem to take themselves more seriously in general).
I'd be quite willing to join a performing group, but you'd really have to sell me on competition (I've done some, and past experience suggests that it sucks the joy out of dancing for me).
I'm Looking For
Someone - or several people! - who has FUN dancing, ideally a lindy hopper. Monterey has lots of live music but very few people to dance with, and I'd love to meet someone who would crash random events (not so much private parties as bars) and dance with me. Someone with enough enthusiasm to spark a real lindy scene in Monterey would be especially great.
