More About Me
I've been a single mom for 14 years and my kids are grown. It's time to focus on me now. I love to dance but dancing is more fun with a regular partner. I don't do the bar scene and dislike going to dances on my own unless there are people I know will be there.
I do go to square dances on my own, but then I've been square dancing since I was a freshman in high school. So I can dance both the woman's and the man's part if necessary. It's more fun to be the gal though. I dance Mainstream and Plus levels and round dance primarily phases 2 and 3. Sometimes I can be pulled (I mean lead lol) through a phase 3 cha or rhumba by a skilled round dancer though.
I also enjoy contra dancing but do find it is more tiring if less challenging. I love to waltz but that definitely requires a partner as does doing the jitterbug or swing dancing or country western. I've been taking some social dance classes to improve my dance skills and am learning west coast swing now and other social dances as well.
When I'm not dancing I enjoy cooking, gardening, and reading or curling up with my cats. I substitute teach, do mortgage title searches and run a website business selling gardening gloves. I stay busy.
I'm Looking For
I'd love to find someone to dance with on a regular basis. My preference is square dancing since I've done that the longest or that he'd be willing to learn it since our club does have lessons every year as do most square dance clubs. But I'd enjoy going out dancing elsewhere regularly as well.
I'd like a guy who is confident and sure of himself. Someone who is well grounded. Preferably someone who has a strong Christian faith but isn't pushy about it. Someone with a sense of humor who will laugh with me, at me and at himself. Someone who likes to be silly now and then, but also knows the worth of silence and when it's necessary to be serious and get down to the brass tacks. Someone confident enough to lean on me when he's hurting and yet gracious and strong enough to embrace me and comfort me when I'm hurting. Not someone who's perfect, but perfectly willing to say I'm sorry, let's try over, or just I goofed.
