More About Me
I think the key point behind anything one does is why one does it, so I'll speak to that :) I dance because I love it. I have other hobbies and interests, but none has ever captured me the way that partnered dancing does. I’ve tried different forms of it throughout my life, but the thing with each of the styles I tried before is that, though I loved it, there was never anyone else who loved it like I did and no one seemed to feel, like I did, that dance HAD to be more than steps. For a long time I figured that once you had the steps and got comfortable enough, the other shoe would fall into place and the magic that I always KNEW was possible would flow. About three years ago, I started learning a method of natural-movement (Body School Style: allowing the movement to create the steps rather than forcing them artificially). I knew right away that it was what I had been looking for. I love the way dance activates all parts of me: physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. I love the way it continues to transform my body and open my mind to things I would never have been able to accept if I hadn’t experienced them myself. I love that you really can’t fake dance. It has to be authentic or it won’t hold up as you push a little harder, a little farther, a little faster. Which brings me to my view of competition: I believe that competition is not really about keeping score or achieving a certain (1st, 2nd, 3rd ) place. I think that placements or scores motivate people to win, but that’s not the final point. How do you win? By playing/dancing your best, both individually and as a team or partnership. Keeping score and “winning” is a secondary goal by which you achieve the ultimate goal: becoming the best dancer/player/person you can be. I've had the opportunity to work with great teachers and have learned quickly. I've competed once and done one show and have done a bit of assistant teaching. Iam looking for a way to continue this adventure!

I'm Looking For
I am looking for a partner who loves dance and who wants to learn and grow through it, someone who is open to competition, but is not cut-throat about it, someone who is willing to devote time and energy to dance... and still sees the fun inherent in the process!
