More About Me
I first encountered ballroom dancing in a European context and Quickstep was the first dance I learned. This means I'm a Standard girl through and through -- Quickstep and Viennese Waltz are my favorite dances, and if I discover at a social dance that you can lead a good slow Foxtrot or Int'l Waltz I may never let you sit down :) My amazing teachers keep trying to entice me to the Latin dark side, but it'll never happen (although after some really fun Paso Doble classes I'm beginning to admit they just might make a ten-dance girl of me someday).
Since I am a full-time graduate student (read: broke), social dancing is my training ground and I do a lot of it. I also attend group classes as often as my school and travel schedules allow. As far as ability goes, I am confident in attending Gold-level classes in any of the ten dances, and I can follow most well-led Gold figures (certain exceptions apply, your mileage may vary, I make no promises if Samba is involved). I am an athletic person with good kinesthetic sense and my approach to all physical training is serious and objective -- no drama and nothing personal.

Don't get me wrong -- every dance, even an American Style one, is a chance to practice and have fun, and I'm grateful for the opportunity. Still, I'd love to find a partner who enjoys Standard as much as I do. Are you within a reasonable drive from North County San Diego? Can you Quickstep? Let's dance!
I'm Looking For
Someone who loves Standard dancing, wants to train regularly (group classes, split-cost private lessons, or both), and is willing to practice at dance parties at least weekly. Preferably someone who will keep me in frame most of the time :)
