More About Me
Started to dance three years ago when I moved from upstate NY to AZ for business. I joined an Arthur Murray studio and was introduced to ballroom --- American smooth, American rhythm, and eventually both Standard and Latin. In addition, I dabbled in the social dances. Dance for me was initially a social event - a way to meet people. I had no idea that it would become a passionate hobby of mine --- one that gave me enough courage to start to compete in Pro-Am events with my instructor. When I had to relocate to KS from AZ, it pained me to leave my studio family behind. I took group classes 5x/week and lessons 2x/week. I was used to working and training hard. I miss that. Manhattan has very little by way of dance here. I have found an instructor who is building a studio, but it would be nice to be able to practice with someone. I would love to continue competing in the Pro-Am division with my instructor, but would be open to competing in Amateur events. My primary goal is not to lose dance ---- although it is an extracurricular activity, it keeps my heart happy.
I'm Looking For
I am looking for another intermediate dancer to share my dance journey with. Someone who loves to dance and have fun. Someone who doesn't take life too seriously, accepts that I'm far from perfect in my dance, and that I have a long ways to grow. I am looking for someone also who is willing and open to working hard and working together. I am flexible in terms of how often we meet and for how long. I really just want to find someone who enjoys dance as much as I do. A dance partner who I can tango with, who can remind me what I love about dance, and who is eager to keep up their skills.
