Love to dance and won't quit till you do. Am familiar with all typical ballroom dances - Smooth and Latin. I do know Salsa and Hustle as well. West Coast Swing is one of my favorites. Foxtrot and Bolero would be my other two favorites. Just now starting to learn Argentine Tango. I can see the possibilities are endless, but can't really judge the dance till it becomes 'effortless' - and I'm not there yet.

I have not yet concentrated on any one dance or style in particular, so I am not yet excellent at any of them. I do, however, know enough to get out on the dance floor and hold my own as an advanced level amateur dancer. I have been trying to become a well-rounded dancer with a good lead for now - while waiting on the partner. I am learning and having lots of fun while doing so, but my dancing could be so much more with a good, dedicated dancer.

More than willing to concentrate on any one particular dance/style if partner has a preference, but I do hope to find a partner that likes to dance everything.

I LOVE to dance! Started way back when I caught Disco fever and have never stopped. I've danced most styles (especially love old style Latin music). Over the years, I've evolved into more of a "feel" type dancer, meaning I dance from my gut and my heart, let the music get inside and then ooze out of me as it inspires my body movement.

I am intelligent, with a mischevious sense of humour. Apart from dancing I like reading, going to the theatre, cinema and ballet. I enjoy travelling and have lived in Africa twice. I am honest, loyal, sensual and a very good listener.

I am a very good lead, I mostly dance salsa and lindy, but enjoy any partner dancing.

I have been taking dance lessons for 3 years now. I love the social aspect and challenge of the sport. I am open to learning all styles of dance. My favorite so far are salsa, east coast, west coast, and nightclub two step. My goals in dance are to become an overall better dancer and more confident. I work hard and always try my best to put into practice what I learn. Most of all I aim to have fun.

I used to dance salsa regularly before you-know-what stopped everything. Since the end of the lockdown, I've never really got back into it, as all the classes I used to enjoy never seem to have restarted. I danced tango for several years, so I know how much it helps having a regular partner for both motivation and making progress. Salsa is my first love, though. I began dancing in the early 1980 by taking CW dance classes in Austin, Tx with my wife. Social dancing was one of our passions until she passed in 2025. We also took some ballroom dance classes and enjoyed combining the two styles. We especially enjoyed the Waltz.

My profile states 3 years experience. THAT experience is continuous. I have been dancing off and on since the Saturday Night Fever days including a period of continuous dancing between the mid 80s and the mid 90s.

It took me a while to discover the greet function. Now that I know about greets, I've sent several greets to women who appear to be 'close enough' to events I can attend. I've been learning International Standard and Latin for about a year at a local studio. I have some training in other dance styles from several years back (jazz, tap, ballet). I'm interested in learning and improving as much as I can. I would like to work towards performing and competing.

I've been ballroom dancing for about 11 years now, first doing pro-am competition, and more recently competing at the amateur level (in International Latin). At the pro-am level, I've competed in the Latin, Rhythm, and American Smooth styles. I did fairly well competitively, especially with Latin and Rhythm, and have won a fair number of scholarships in some of the larger competitions. On the amateur side, I competed at the pre-champ and open levels in Latin. My partner and I won the pre-champ division in our age level, and then made the final in open Latin at the USA Dance national championships in 2010. Prior to ballroom, I spent about 18 years doing ballet, tap, jazz, and modern. I love everything there is about dance--I think it's part of my soul, and who I am. I want to keep growing and improving in this sport/art, but most of all, I want to have fun doing that!

I've been told I'm a talented dancer. I hope that's true (I'm always full of doubts, of course!), but I know I'm a hard worker, very devoted to dancing, and I'll work my butt off getting reading for a competition or performance. I've had coaching from some of the best in the business, and I'll be forever grateful for the insight, support, and advice these wonderful coaches have given me.

Professionally, I'm a scientist, and have my own business doing consulting work in the biotech world. I'm pretty athletic, I run a lot (and used to compete in running too), lift weights, and do yoga regularly. I'm also a pretty serious mountain climber. I've climbed both in the United States and in South America in the Andes, and I hope to climb Mt. McKinley in Alaska in the very near future (it's on my Bucket List!) I also have what I think is a pretty unique hobby--once I summit a mountain, I do a little dance on the top. I think it's quite possible that I hold the world record for a high altitude samba (20,700 feet on Chimborazo in Ecuador). If you know anyone who's done the samba at a higher elevation than that, I don't want to hear about it.

Oh yeah, I also love dogs and have a great Labrador retriever named Newton. He is truly the best dog on the planet.

I stared dancing at 18 when I took my first dance class as in college. I had no idea it would be so fun. I have been dancing Salsa and Bachata on and off for about 18 years at dance socials in Central NJ and Northern NJ, and have done couples and group choregraphed performances for these dances at dance studios in the past. I've also learned Argentine Tango, Cha Cha, Rumba, Mambo, and Merengue. I'd like to learn beginner levels of Ballroom dances next, so that I can attend Ballroom/Latin dance socials and dance to any song that comes on. I'd also like to advance my skills in Argentine Tango and the various Latin dances, and have a dance partner to attend private lessons and practice with.

I do most of the ballroom dances; swing, foxtrot, west coast swing, salsa, cha cha, samba, bachata, Argentine tango, American tango, rumba, lindy hop, foxtrot, waltz, viennese waltz, quickstep, meringue, bolero, country two step, and night club two step.

I began ballroom dancing about 15 years ago and consider myself a solid bronze-level dancer, although I’m comfortable following a more advanced lead. I haven’t focused heavily on advancing through additional levels simply because finding a compatible dance partner in my area who can confidently lead at my current level has been challenging.

That’s what brought me here! I would love to meet a dance partner who, like me, truly enjoys ballroom dancing and would like to have someone to share it with. While I would be very comfortable dancing with someone more advanced, I’m equally open to a partner who is less experienced than I am.
