Getting back into dancing after a long break

I actually choreograph children’s dance performances but my actual dance training is limited. I have taken ballroom classes off and on for the past few years but life got in the way of consistency. I have a good sense of timing and pick up fairly well but I don’t have extensive partner experience and would love the opportunity to train and practice consistently with a committed partner.

I socially danced ballroom at a beginning state years ago but gave it up over 25 years ago. I have always loved to dance and after my husband passed in 2022 I decided to bring dance back into my life.I currently take private lessons with a Competition skilled instructor 3 days a week and attend 3 hours of classes. When available, I also take 3 hour workshops on weekend. Rumba is my favorite style of dance but, I also love American waltz, Foxtrot, Nightclub 2 step, I am just learning West Coast swing, Cha-Cha and American Tango. I want to dance well showing the heart of each dance.

I do most of the ballroom dances; swing, foxtrot, west coast swing, salsa, cha cha, samba, bachata, Argentine tango, American tango, rumba, lindy hop, foxtrot, waltz, viennese waltz, quickstep, meringue, bolero, country two step, and night club two step.

I competed for many years in International Standard. My former partner recently decided to retire from practicing or competing in Standard and I'm looking for a new partner for practice and, perhaps, competition.

I have a wonderful family & have enjoyed a successful career in education administration & research. I was a VP in a Middletown HS and directed county & statewide programs in NJ. & a ten-state regional program in the northeast. I have also directed programs & done research in Houston, TX. I learned to two step at the Yellow Rose in NJ & have two-stepped in numerous venues in TX. Dancing brings me great joy! I have been dancing since very young & presently do line dancing in my 55+ community. I started ballroom dancing in grad school, where I competed for three years on MIT ballroom team. I've grown to love dancing as a way to relax, work out, and connect with people. I kept with it when I moved to California in 2017, where I got involved in the social ballroom scene and took standard classes with Stephen and Debbie Cullip. I moved back to Massachusetts with my family in 2020, and now that covid vaccines are widely available I am again dancing regularly as a hobby.

Dancing bachata for just under two years, mostly Modern with goals to develop Sensual this year and incorporate Bachazouk. I will add salsa and zouk once I am fluent with bachata, so I am open to working on those now as well.

I take 1-2 private lessons and 3-4 group lessons weekly. If I learn it I can teach it.

Started Swing (Modern Lindy Hop) in 2000. Inspired by Frankie Manning. Started Mambo (Triple Mambo) a few years later. Also dance Blues and Waltz.

I dance in the styles as these dances came out of Harlem in the 40s. Preserving the history and spreading the knowledge and joy of 1940s' Rhythm Dance is a passion.

Just one easy-going guy looking for a dance partner, and if a great relationship develops, that would be great, too. I've lived in the Valley ten years and have found a few really good places to dance, but want a regular dance partner. My West Coast, Salsa, Rumba and Night Club two-step all need more practice, and I need a dance partner to make that happen.

I'm taking lessons again after 30 years. Back then I took private lessons for a couple of months and group classes also. I enjoy dancing a lot and learning new steps. Now, I only remember a few steps of East Coast Swing, I'm just beyond beginner. I want to learn other ballroom dances also.

I danced Latin and ballroom from the age of 3-14 years of age. I reached 3rd gold star in both. She was never as interested in it as I was. All said ... I've only been focusing on my dance regularly ( many days a week ) for the last year ... so I'm just coming up out of novice status ... but I'm learning rapidly and working on my own dances now that highlight my unique set of skills in conjunction with my partner's. Sometimes the dance community brands me as "un-conventional" but others particularly neutral observers encourage along my style of dancing as invigorating with a great message.

I am a dance teacher from America with a background in American Latin and a bit of Smooth. I've done a bit of International ballroom/latin but currently mostly do social dances; Salsa, Bachata, West Coast Swing, Blues, Lindy Hop. I'm always seeking to learn and improve. Happy to trade knowledge or just practice any of the above dances together. I am very easy to get along with and don't take myself too seriously. You'd need to be the same-- able to take and give feedback without ego getting in the way. While I would like to get to know more people, I am married and have no interest in anything romantic of any kind.

I love to dance and I've been doing other styles of dance since I was little. I started ballroom and Latin lessons a few years ago but stopped going due to various reasons (not having a partner and wasn't learning a lot.) I still go to the odd social and it's great to be able to practice dancing with different people. I do it for fun so I'm not looking for a serious commitment and since starting my own business and with other commitments I'm not sure where I stand currently with taking up lessons again. I'm a quick learner and like a challenge. I'm easy going and up for a laugh! I'd be up for meeting at a few socials for now. I go with a couple of friends to a few places... Solihull, Cannock, Brownhills and Streetly. I like the idea of doing a some short courses so it's not a permanent commitment at the moment. I've seen some argentine classes and I'd love to do more of that. I've also done salsa classes for about 2/3 years and go to socials in and around Birmginham when I can. This is great fun as you don't need a partner but can keep swapping so good for socialising and for practice. I even tried a few swing classes!

I'm very passionate about Latin and Ballroom dancing. I've started to dance since 8 years old, and took some break due to study. I have own serveral times champaionship before, and I'm good at Latin, new to Ballroom, but I'm for either.

I am 39 years old and I am already competing in Senior 1 Ballroom with my husband who likes to focus on Ballroom only. He is encouraging me to find a Latin partner and I would like to dance Latin in Senior 1 with someone who specialises in Latin only.

I love all types of solo and partner dance: contemporary, jazz, swing, lindy, ceroc, flamenco, salsa, zumba etc. I dance to have fun not to perform and don't like to take it all too seriously. I can both lead and follow and have attended classes on drops and aerials in the past on my own as both leader and follower rotating partners. This is the area that really excites me and I would like to find someone to register with me to attend a Ceroc fixed couple masterclass in the UK or abroad together.

I am back. After taking a few years off dancing, I've decided to dance again and am serious about finding a partner and dancing again.

Im originally from Leicester and London england and am British trained dancer with specialty in international latin but also interested in salsa and bachata and social dancing in general. I had recieved training from Karina Smirnoff, Goran Nordin, Max Kozhevnikov and other amazing teachers more recently.

By trade I am an electrical engineer. I started dancing at 15 years ago. I am a pro dancer in hustle only. I'm still an amateur in the other dances.

I received instructor training in salsa and hustle. My instructor training was overseen by the following coaches: Ramiro Gonzalez, Angel Figueroa, Tybalt & Hazel Ulrich, Katie Marlow, and Shay Dixon.

As far as ballroom goes, I am most proficient in american style. I go ballroom dancing socially about 2 times a week. I would love to compete some day should I find a partner to do so with, though I would need more formal training in ballroom to clean up some technique.

I also love west coast swing, and found that swing out was also very interesting.

As far as doing performances, I use to do that all the time but I am not a member of any performance team currently. I was one of the founding members of Mambo Dallas when I was located there, and a member of the LA Hustle Movement.

I absolutely love to dance, and dancing always puts a smile on my face.

I’ve taken group dance lessons in swing and individual lessons in ballroom; I pick up steps easily, have good rhythm, and can follow a good leader. I look forward to advancing my skills on the dance floor.

I started taking line dancing classes weekly from summer 2017 to summer 2019. Picking it back up summer.2022. Many styles are taught and practised in class such as waltz, rumba, chacha, tango etc., and I enjoy them a lot! Since 2023, I visit Bollywood class once in awhile when schedules allow. Since June 2025, salsa and bachata lessons have been my weekly muse. Also added Swing and West Coast Swing weekly since July. Wish I had started decades ago!

Fully vaccinated and double-boosted. I'm more comfortable wearing a mask in the studio for now.

Currently studying for my Dance Vision teaching certification in the most gorgeous dance studio I've ever seen. (Did you know Dance Vision has some studio franchises in Texas?) Shaking the rust off after a 10-year hiatus from dancing.

I'm all about technique, and would rather do a few figures well than many figures poorly. I've been dancing and teaching since 1993, some Silver American Smooth and Rhythm, some International Standard and Latin. Studied under Russell Monk, Fred Dunn, Rickey Geiger, Ludwig Dahlberg, and Craig Bukowski, among others.

I've hit the road full-time in my vintage Shasta LoFlyte. I had planned to be in New England for the summer but with this crazy weather, I have to admit, I'm kind of scared to travel that far. I may have to tough it out in Dallas, Texas, for the summer.

I'm a non-smoking, non-drinking, vegan Christian. Sound like a barrel of laughs, huh? ;-) I really am very funny; well, at least I think I am...I also have a cat and a not-so-friendly dog, something people with severe allergies need to know. I'm willing to relocate for the right opportunity.

10-dancer of about 14 years. Recently moved to the Austin (TX) area from New York City. Looking to get back into the competitive dance scene. My recent trainers are Ina Jeliazkova, Olga Tsikalyuk, Frantseska Yordanova, to name a few.

It is difficult to find the right partner from reading only a bio. I am willing to travel to or part way to test out dancing together. Trying out dancing together along with conversation is, I believe, the only way to find the right dance partner. I trained for 14 years in ballet. Shortly after entering the pro division, covid arrived and we were sent home, as most were, to await further instruction. It was during this time that I discovered ballroom and absolutely fell in love with it. I have been teaching and competing in ballroom for 4.5 years, but have not yet found the right partner; someone who is as dedicated to growing into a partnership thru working together and accomplishing common goals.

Trained in Dallas w/ Jairelbhi Furlong (90%) & Nasrin Barmaki (10%) in 2018 & 2019 for 12 months over two years; over 200 hours of instruction and 300 hours practice time during that time period. Recreational dancing not included. Lessons in West Coast Swing and Hustle under Beata Howe in 2019. More than 20 years dancing: Salsa, West Coast Swing, Two Step (as is judged at a UCWDC event). None of the hours listed above are group classes. Other past instruction is from Mary Ann Nunez and Jeannie Tucker.

Looking for someone to practice and train with their level not so important if their willing to put time in.

Only swing, I like music from the 50's and lots of older swing. I have traveled a a large part of the country for workshops, now I just want to dance!

I danced Argentine Tango for 4 years quite a while ago while living in The Netherlands. I recently picked it back up to improve my dancing and I am also learning how to lead now. A partner that can switch between leading and following would be nice but it's not a must.
