Hi, I'm 46 years old and took up ballroom dancing 11 years ago. I enjoy dancing and have advanced to a high level. I'm proficient in Latin and Ballroom. I'm very fun loving and like to have a laugh but at the same time I am very focused and willing to work hard. Would love to find a dance partner I can train with. Due to health issues and then lockdown I have not danced properly for a few years. So I don’t mind if you’re proficient or just starting out. We are all finding our feet again!!

I'm currently teaching WCS, and country partner & line dances a couple times a month and hold a social dance once month. I also teach at the local country bar. My profile states 3 years experience. THAT experience is continuous. I have been dancing off and on since the Saturday Night Fever days including a period of continuous dancing between the mid 80s and the mid 90s.

It took me a while to discover the greet function. Now that I know about greets, I've sent several greets to women who appear to be 'close enough' to events I can attend. I danced modern techniques years ago when I was in my 20s, and have always enjoyed dancing socially in clubs ... albeit not too frequently once I got into my 40s :) I started Argentine Tango during the summer of 2018, and I have become fairly obsessed with becoming a decent dancer.

I took ballroom lesson for my PE courses in college, but I really started to get serious about dancing in 2008. I prefer to get as much floor time as possible, so I rarely sit out a dance. Quiet, Funny, and Laid back describes me pretty well. I've been dancing about 3-4 years now. Mostly private lessons and some group classes, as well as Competing in the Country events, both AC and UCW circuits. Since I've been pretty lucky to have a practice partner for the first year and a half, I've been able to catch on to things pretty quickly and move up to the intermediately level for comps. The downside is I'm not a big social dancer so I don't have the connections or know the people in the local community to see if anyone is looking for a practice partner. I danced a bit of hip hop growing up and was always surrounded by dancers. But it wasnt till 5 years ago that a friend showed me a basic rumba step and i was hooked i have been dancing on and off since then.

I competed for many years in International Standard. My former partner recently decided to retire from practicing or competing in Standard and I'm looking for a new partner for practice and, perhaps, competition.

I love dancing of various kinds - most zouk, salsa, bachata , kizomba and their fusion.

When they feel like they've just danced as well as they did at an earlier time, it’s tremendously rewarding for me.

Phase 2,3,4 round dancing in most rhythms. Only mainstream and plus for squares. Both since 2006. Recently started contra. Country western since late 70’s. I travel several days a week to dance. I am usually a pretty good follower.

I've been ballroom dancing for about 11 years now, first doing pro-am competition, and more recently competing at the amateur level (in International Latin). At the pro-am level, I've competed in the Latin, Rhythm, and American Smooth styles. I did fairly well competitively, especially with Latin and Rhythm, and have won a fair number of scholarships in some of the larger competitions. On the amateur side, I competed at the pre-champ and open levels in Latin. My partner and I won the pre-champ division in our age level, and then made the final in open Latin at the USA Dance national championships in 2010. Prior to ballroom, I spent about 18 years doing ballet, tap, jazz, and modern. I love everything there is about dance--I think it's part of my soul, and who I am. I want to keep growing and improving in this sport/art, but most of all, I want to have fun doing that!

I'm pretty athletic, I run a lot (and used to compete in running too), lift weights, and do yoga regularly. I'm also a pretty serious mountain climber. I've climbed both in the United States and in South America in the Andes, and I hope to climb Mt. McKinley in Alaska in the very near future (it's on my Bucket List!) I also have what I think is a pretty unique hobby--once I summit a mountain, I do a little dance on the top. I think it's quite possible that I hold the world record for a high altitude samba (20,700 feet on Chimborazo in Ecuador). If you know anyone who's done the samba at a higher elevation than that, I don't want to hear about it.

Oh yeah, I also love dogs and have a great Labrador retriever named Newton. He is truly the best dog on the planet.

I am a lover of music and expression through movement. I dabble in most styles-Ballroom, Salsa, Kizomba, Zouk, Bachata, Blues, Argentine, Country.... I've danced at salsa clubs for 15+years, but I'm also trained in American Ballroom Styles. I'd like to be proficient in the full silver syllabus and then gold. I do best with flexible fusion and like pushing limits of dancing to non-traditional music. Dancing is a joy and an art for me.

I am just about to take Argentine dance lessons (January 2026). I hope to be able to have the opportunity to dance outside of classes.

I took both some basic salsa and West Coast swing dance lessons around 2010. Do not remember much from them but am willing to practice with someone who wants to have fun dancing but has patience. I am hoping to take again lessons in at least one of these styles sometime this year (2026).

If I am able to find a good dance connection, I am no open you other styles as well.

Back in 1999, I started taking ballroom dancing lessons, for about 6 years. Unfortunately, I had some rough years in my life and I couldn't continue, at least with private lessons (I continued to attend parties and group classes occasionally. However, I started taking lessons again about a year ago and have been since. My favorite dances are east coast swing, lindy hop, hustle, as well as others like the salsa, mambo, merengue, cha-cha, waltz, tango. Lately, I'm learning more about the west coast swing, and have found a secondary dance teacher for the Lindy Hop where I take private lessons from her.

I have always wanted to learn several different types of dancing. My partners have never been interesred. If you would like to learn with me and we could be amateur partners together, great! Or if you are skilled already then super fabulous, now teach me please! I would make an excellent student! I am kind and fun!

Through some difficult and painful life lessons I am preparing to be better at life as a whole and I feel like a champion when I practice dancing(even though I haven't arrived at any medals, etc. yet). My desires are to learn to love all people, to get up after falling and hopefully learn from those experience(s) and finally to improve on the best I can be, while hopefully learning to listen to the genuine wisdom of others to blend with my own to build a better life.

To keep it short I have many interests and yes, I am willing to adapt to new ones within reason....except hard rock and heavy rap music. I am generally a quiet guy but in the right atmosphere can be quite lively and entertaining.

Another thing that I forgot to mention is that I am learning not just to enjoy events, outings, just being quiet, fun times, etc..........but, the most important point is that I am learning to treasure each moment that I am with that special someone and not take time and life and her for granted. ...... .... have private lessons in Ballroom and Latin , as have no partner. Have attempted Argentine Tango, but think i need a very patient partner, or is it just difficult ????

I'm currently learning International Style Standard and Latin dances and been completing in both of those as a silver level pro/am couple. I have also completed in American Style Smooth and Rhythm dances at the Gold level as pro/am. In my spare time, I do a lot of social dancing in Country & Western, West Coast Swing, Hustle, Salsa, Lindy, Argentina Tango, Modern and a few others.

I am taking private and group lessons at difference place around the DC area. I have been told that I have an excellence lead and form, dance floor present and craft, and rapid learner. I'm constantly learning and trying new material in order to give my dancing more dazzle to include tinkling with lifts and drops.
