Open standard dancer

Dancing ballet for the past two years, recently started private ballroom lessons. Novice in both. Favorite dances are waltz and American Tango. Have natural rhythm and timing, but those steps can get challenging.

It took me a while to discover the greet function. Now that I know about greets, I've sent several greets to women who appear to be 'close enough' to events I can attend. Proficiency level of my dance partner doesn't matter, beginners are welcome. I tried changing the selection to "I don't care" but can't get the choice to make it into my profile. Dance skills 5, computer skills 0!

Hello! I grew up training mainly in ballet, contemporary, lyrical/modern, and several folk dances. I started ballroom training about 3 years ago, but progressed quickly as I've made my way through BYU's intensive ballroom program. I've competed novice, pre-champ, and amateur international latin/ballroom, american rhythm, and american smooth. I also have some cabaret experience, and completed through gold bar medals exams with high gold. I can teach social dance as well. I absolutely LOVE everything about dancing, and it has been a huge form of healing in my life. Though I love all styles and am open to competing all of them, my favorite is definitely american smooth. I plan to compete professionally, and am looking for a partner to pursue that with. I incorporate a lot of biomechanics, strength/weight training, cardio, boxing, and a variety of other movement into my training as a whole. After just a few months of regular and intensive training, my coach decided I was ready to enter my first ballroom dance competitions, starting at the regional level 👫🏻🏆 I made rapid progress, constantly improving my technique and gaining confidence 🚀 📈 From then on, I almost always made it to the final 🏅🤝

I used to dance salsa regularly before you-know-what stopped everything. Since the end of the lockdown, I've never really got back into it, as all the classes I used to enjoy never seem to have restarted. I danced tango for several years, so I know how much it helps having a regular partner for both motivation and making progress. Salsa is my first love, though. In 1996, I started ballroom and east coast swing while studying for bar. After a 5-year hiatus to focus on practicing law, I started salsa in 2002. A year later, I got back into ballroom and have since completed a teacher training program. I've ballroom danced on TV (enough to qualify for SAG), and I've done a number of amateur dance competitions (with hope to do more). I have danced completely around the world as a social dance host on a cruise line. On top of practicing law in Pasadena, I teach beginners how to dance and try to go social dancing at least 2-3 times a week. I'm all in!

Update: 2023 I am now competing in Scholarship and made my first trip to Blackpool in May of this year where we placed 3rd in the ProAm in International Standard Ballroom. It was an amazing experience and look forward to going back again next year.

Looking for an Amateur competition partner interested in competing, able to put in the practice time and travel. Focus at the moment is International Standard, followed by American Smooth and American Rhythm.

Once I started, I got hooked and fell in love with Ballroom. I study at Arthur Murray and attend private lessons 5x per week and various group classes. I also for fun go out dancing Ballroom, Salsa and Argentine Tango socially.

Like many things I have pursued in life, I work at it diligently to perfect techniques and form as I strive to do my best at anything I do. I entered ProAM and Amateur competitions and rapidly moved through from Newcomer, Associate Bronze and into Full Bronze, and now Silver and Gold divisions winning my events, Solos and All Arounds locally, at the Championships and over in Prague. I dance in all majors in American Smooth, Rhythm and Waltz and Quickstep in International Standard. I have some specialty dances as well including Argentine Tango.

I thoroughly enjoy learning new dances and figures, competing and dancing socially. While I work hard and dance like I mean it, I dance with all levels of partners when at events or social outings from complete beginners to Pros. I always dance with my partner, lead and each do our part and try to make each dance an enjoyable experience. This keeps things light and fun!

I started teaching in July 2021 and I have DVIDA Bronze certifications in Smooth, Rhythm, Standard & Latin and DVIDA Silver Standard & Gold Standard

Currently studying for my Dance Vision teaching certification in the most gorgeous dance studio I've ever seen. (Did you know Dance Vision has some studio franchises in Texas?) Shaking the rust off after a 10-year hiatus from dancing.

I'm all about technique, and would rather do a few figures well than many figures poorly. I've been dancing and teaching since 1993, some Silver American Smooth and Rhythm, some International Standard and Latin. Studied under Russell Monk, Fred Dunn, Rickey Geiger, Ludwig Dahlberg, and Craig Bukowski, among others.

I've hit the road full-time in my vintage Shasta LoFlyte. I had planned to be in New England for the summer but with this crazy weather, I have to admit, I'm kind of scared to travel that far. I may have to tough it out in Dallas, Texas, for the summer.

I'm a non-smoking, non-drinking, vegan Christian. Sound like a barrel of laughs, huh? ;-) I really am very funny; well, at least I think I am...I also have a cat and a not-so-friendly dog, something people with severe allergies need to know. I'm willing to relocate for the right opportunity.

I am looking for someone to dance with regularly and have fun - unfortunately I don't have time to compete, but would like to have a partner to improve with.

I have a lot of experience (years) with Lindy Hop and Salsa, but I’m still a beginner with Ballroom. Lately, I've been focusing on Waltz, Foxtrot, and Tango. I performed my first Waltz last year (2025) and this year I’m going to perform a Foxtrot with one of my teachers. I intend to perform Tango, Quickstep, and Viennese Waltz in the future. Maybe a Cha Cha, too. We’ll see. I come from a background as a musician.
