I started dancing as an undergrad in college, and quickly fell in love with it. My father was a Jazz musician, so it runs in the blood. I can be a very driven person, and when I decide I want to accomplish something I make it happen. I stopped working on my Ph.D. to pursue dance as a career in stead of a hobby. My experience in college has taught me how to work hard for what I want, and how to look at the technical side of dance as well as the artistic side.

I spent the last two years of undergrad starting a Ballroom Dance club at my college, and hosting a number of social and performance events. Now I work at a prominent studio here in Nashville.

I am an Athlete and trained in more than 5 forms of Martial Arts including Boxing and Jujitsu. I started Dancing in High School with Hip-hop & Break Dancing but have since Evolved to various styles. I am interested in all forms of dance - Ballroom including Latin. My goal is to fulfill a wish of putting on a great dance performance with a fusion of styles. However, I will compete in various individual styles with a partner if she chooses this will help me perfect those styles and incorporate them in my eventual choreography. I've been swing dancing for about 8 years. I enjoy east coast swing, lindy hop, blues and ballroom.

I'm at an intermediate stage where I'd really like to find a dedicated practice partner to help take my dancing to the next level. If I have a partner with good dance chemistry, I can literally "zone out" and enter a "creative space" that adds so much energy to the dance. I've literally stopped my follows before to ask them, "What did I just do and how did I do that, because that was pretty awesome"! I'd like to find someone willing to be experimental in this way; to take that "in the moment" energy and break it down and play with it to see what we can come up with together.

I'd really like to become more involved with demonstrations and other events, air steps and aeriels. Maybe even competitions, someday. I commenced dancing in October of 2012 by attending several workshops and dance lesson sessions to experience the different genres. I found that I enjoyed virtually every genre, causing me to work toward learning each so that I can lead and dance all the noted dance types at a relatively high degree of competence. I do not intend to enter competitions, but I am interested in attending lessons, workshops and seminars conducted by professional instructors at various locations in addition to attending dances in or out of the local region. I view dancing as a perpetually available life time recreational activity sponsored by multiple local, regional, national and international venues. For me, dance is becoming both the catalyst and conduit for social interaction, physical exercise and mental stimulation.

I am a very patient and charitable partner, willing to try the same steps as many times, for as long as necessary, so that both my partner and I are proud to dance the sequences. From my perspective practice after a lesson is the best way to get the most out of a lesson. I also enjoy utilizing instructional videos to learn and practice these techniques with a partner. If we need help, I would not be adverse to engage an instructor for assistance.

Since I am interested in multiple genres, I am open to arranging different schedules with different partners according to their individual interests and needs. I am able to provide facilities for practice and have a relatively flexible schedule.
