I have been dancing for almost 15 years. Love dancing and performing. Want to find a compatible dance partner for competitions. Right now I am doing Smooth and Latin.

I have competed in International Latin and Standard at Silver and above levels. My best result in Standard was 1st place Silver at NYU 2008, Silver and Gold Latin semi-final at MAC and MIT 2009. I took a break from ballroom dancing for sometime and am getting back to it. Currently I take lessons for Latin. I took private lessons in Standard at open level in the past and would like to continue them in the future.

I'm a natural, spirited, extremely youthful, energetic woman and have a zest for life. I've developed a passion for dancing and have competed in American Smooth (4 dances). I have also studied American Rhythm and International Standard and Latin. I am currently taking Lindy/Swing/Balboa lessons and loving it.

I welcome adventures. I love the outdoors and have varied activitites some of which are tennis, kayaking, and hiking. I also enjoy performing arts. I'm honest and down to earth and would like to meet someone of similar interests and values.

I started my dance career training to be in the Olympics for ice dancing from ages 7-20. In 2009, I switched careers and started training to be a ballroom dance professional. I competed professionally in Rhythm for 10 years and have placed in both rising star and open. I also was the master teacher for BDTC in a Box and have been certified with high honors in the American style and social dances through the Dance Vision syllabus. In 2018, I moved to Houston and my husband and I opened a ballroom studio in the NW area. I have taken a 4-year break from competing, but am looking to get back into it on a smaller scale.

I grew up in MN after moving there from Upper MI as a child. I have danced most of my life, beginning in MI where we danced weekly at the Danish brotherhood. Yes I know the Butterfly, Shottish, Polka, and all the old dances. My favorites are salsa, waltz, Cha Cha, and foxtrot.

I relocated to VA in 2005 after working in 9 states in 1 year. I was a locum and traveled on assignments. My children are 20 and 22 and live in different states while attending college. Son is working on his Master's and PhD, daughter is working on her BS.

I am semi retired from one career as an anesthetist and fully retired from the financial advisor career.

My life has been very busy with 2 children and my careers. There was time to travel before children, while they were growing up and now that they have left home. My travels have taken me to 56 countries and there are more to explore. Some trips were pleasure others were study and work.

Besides dancing, I love to sing and have had the privilege of singing at Carnegie Hall and Coventry Cathedral, plus many other places. My hobbies include bridge, gardening (actually trying to figure out what grows best in VA), needlework, art museums, and volunteering. I enjoy the arts very much, even opera.

At this point in my life, my goal is to find a life partner to dance with me and enjoy all that life has to offer. I have danced on a Greek dance team, waltzed in Vienna under the stars, and spent weekends salsa dancing in CT. Unfortunatley, they were not with the man of my dreams only with a man that asked me to dance while at the dance.

I have no experience on dancing. I'd be happy to learn and enjoy dancing on myself and also on a partner.

I started dancing at the age of 7 all 10 Ballroom & Latin American dances with Joy Tolhurst who became Len Goodman's first mother in law. I went on to train with Len for 10 years at his Dartford school. Later at his Gravesend school, with additional training from Pat Davies who now runs the school. I also trained for about 1 1/2 years with Michael Stylianos in Streatham.

Had a break from dancing, but more recently I've been doing Salsa, Bachata Flamenco & Argentinian Tango.

I've had many varied dancing / competitive experiences over the years and after too long a break I'd like to find someone to start take local dance classes & social dancing & see where that takes us?

I have been dancing international/ social modern & Latin for over 10 years, I went thru some good coaching, I have very easy going pleasant personality. I work in it field.

2001: lots of classes over 9 months with Tom & Debra, Donna & Ray, Donna & Mike (including role reversal--lots of fun), Jane & Reyned, workshop on zen & chi of swing with Doug Silton, Balboa/Bal-Swing with David Rehm, & others. Went to some dances, but didn't have a partner to practice with so almost immediately forgot what I learned in class.

Spring 2007: Started taking classes again: beginner's class again with Tom & Debra, intermediate Lindy with Donna & Mike, intermediate Hollywood Lindy with Michael & Poppy, Level I Smooth Lindy & Balboa with David Rehm, intermediate Lindy with Donna & Mike, workshops with Rusty Frank and Dabe & Janelle, and others. WCS class was okay, but I thought rather too slow.

I really wanted to be a good swing dancer. Thought about performing, competing, even teaching. I love the way swing dancing feels and love the music, whether from the swing era, or rockabilly, or blues. I also used to perform this music and play cornet and harmonicas in bands, including one that played at swing dances in the DC area.

I have several swing dance instruction DVDs, and have read a lot about the history and different styles. Interested in distinctions between different styles of swing dancing in different decades and parts of the country and learning to dance the different styles.

The advice I have received is "just go to dances." But at dances you can't stop and analyze why a lead or a move didn't work right and correct it. I can practice music alone but it's more difficult to practice partner dancing alone. I would like to find a woman who wants to learn to swing dance better or one who is already a good dancer and would help me learn to dance better.

My living room has a hardwood floor and is reserved for dancing. I have lots of CDs with music suitable for swing dancing of various styles.

Had two t-shirts made with "Seeking Swing Dancing Practice Partner" on them; wore them to classes. Two women said they would practice, but only at dances.

Some of my other interests are taking video and photographs, meditating, studying buddhism and taoism, walking, and playing music (jazz, swing, standards, blues, rock, folk).

I've given up dancing for now (2008) because I've been unable to find a partner to practice with at home.
