I studied theater with a minor in dance and I am predominantly a ballerina, but I got into social dance (mostly latin and salsa) in college as a good weekend outing and a way to blow off steam and do something different then the ballet and contemporary my days were filled with. While I am still highly active in the ballet world I am looking to expand my ballroom knowledge and social dance circles and skills. I have a lot of salsa experience, and a little bit of Argentinian tango and other smooth dance experience.

**Update** I am honestly unsure how to rate my proficiency using their scale. For salsa and Latin social dance I would consider my self pretty advanced (double and triple turns, lifts and dips, need a girl who you can drop into a bachata ragdoll and watch her head almost touch the floor? Me). Years in ballet means I'm balanced and flexible. But everything else in things like the smooth world for example, I'm much closer to a beginner in terms of vocabulary. That's kinda of where I am interested in learning more.

I have been ballroom dancing for 7 years now, and am in search of a partner mostly to compete and practice with. I am very dedicated and hard working and will do whatever it takes to come out on top!

Would like to find out how often is too often to dance. Its kind of like flowers or roses - how often is too often to get them and how many is too many? Well, I just don't know, but would sure like the chance to find out. I have gone beyond being a beginner and love dancing with upper experienced dancers because I know that will make me so much better. I have become so passionate and I might even have to say driven at the this point about being just as good as what I see on Dancing with the Stars and am convinced that I can pull it off. I am a bit old fashioned and love to be treated like a lady. Love dressing up for special occasions. Love to travel and want to see so much more of our world. Hoping dancing might lead to a few of those places. My favorite dances are Fox Trot - would love to be able to dance like Ginger - Lindy Hop and Swing, Cha Cha and oh yes Rumba - very sexy slow dance. American Tango has fast become one of my favs and now I have added Bolero and oh my gosh, with the right partner, what a dance! I have competed in a national Arthur Murray competition and many of their local ones during the past 5 years and am still seeking a dance/practice partner, even though I now have a fabulous instructor. It is the missing element for me.

I am crazy on International Ballroom Dancing practise, I have studied for both Standard(modern) and Latin. Basically,I know the Cha Cha,Rumba,Jive,Samba,Waltz,Vinenese Walt, Foxtrot, Quick Step and Tango for 20 years. At lease on Bronze level.I hope my life full of dancing, and dancing full of life.

Goal

Background

I have only limited formal instruction in ballroom dance, though I pick up steps quickly. I danced a lot of tap and ballet as a teenager, but haven't done with much those dances since. When I lived in NYC, I learned some salsa and other Latin dances that were a lot of fun. Over the years, I have taken the random swing, salsa, waltz, or tango class.
