I do most of the ballroom dances; swing, foxtrot, west coast swing, salsa, cha cha, samba, bachata, Argentine tango, American tango, rumba, lindy hop, foxtrot, waltz, viennese waltz, quickstep, meringue, bolero, country two step, and night club two step.

I am pretty athletic and fit. I love to dance (perhaps obvious since I'm on this site). Taking lessons 2+ years with outstanding teachers. I've done only ballroom smooth and rhythm so far. Am loving all of it. I have gone to some socials which are fun. But would really love a great practice partner. Have been taking at least 4 lessons a week for awhile but would like to get more practice and maybe compete at amateur level.

Socially, charity balls, etc. I'm no stranger to white tie in Vienna, etc.

Started Swing (Modern Lindy Hop) in 2000. Inspired by Frankie Manning. Started Mambo (Triple Mambo) a few years later. Also dance Blues and Waltz.

I taught classes in Modern Lindy Hop for several years.

I dance in the styles as these dances came out of Harlem in the 40s. Preserving the history and spreading the knowledge and joy of 1940s' Rhythm Dance is a passion.

I am a strong yet conscientious lead. Strong on technique.

In my teaching years I was a noted Lindy technique instructor in the Swing Dance Community.

I taught approx 300 classes and courses. Organized 250+ dances. Served on the staff of 4 American Lindy Hop Championships. Formerly the founder/director of the Swing Dance Community Chapter serving Fairfield, Westchester and later, Putnam.

I would classify myself as a professional social dancer. I've never been in it to make money. Always kept fees as low as I could manage.

I always included teaching the history of the music and dance in my classes. Including how society as well as music and dance was forever changed by Swing.

I'm looking for a partner who shares my passion for Lindy, Mambo and Blues music and dance.

I have been dancing ballroom and latin on and off for about 20 years but did not have a regular partner until 2019 and our progress was interrupted by covid restrictions. Unfortunately a foot injury now means my partner can no longer dance. I would say I am a proficient social dancer in ballroom and latin. I have been dancing modern jive for about twenty years and I am very good at it but go regularly to the same venue so do not need a partner for this but am very willing to int0rduce a potential partner.

Having been a spectator to quality dancing for most of my life, I decided it was time for an indulgence, a private dance lesson!! Little did I know I would find my personal passion and a truly addictive pleasure. Almost seven years later and having lost count of the number of dance lessons I have taken and enjoyed, I am fascinated by every moment of the professional instruction, thrilled by the feeling of gliding across the floor in a smooth dance, energized by rhythm dancing and committed to helping other “find the joy”. I have been taking lessons in Sarasota, FL for 7 years. My present instructor is a former world class dancer, and former dance board chairman, who judges all around the country.

With a different instructor, I participated in the 2019 Tampa Bay Classic and won top silver female. At that competition, we performed a Tango Argentine solo.

I love learning the finer points of ballroom dance, slowly refining my dancing over the years. The more I learn, the more I realize that I have much more to learn. Every time I step onto the dance floor for a lesson, I am truly enthralled by the experience.

At the same time, I just love to dance socially and am hoping to find a gentleman who has a similar level of experience and who also derives great joy from moving on the dance floor to some of the most wonderful music ever created.

I first learned to dance at 18 when I dated a dance instructor for 8 months. I learned the Latin Hustle and The Rope was my favorite (West Coast Swing?). I would like to get back into dancing as it is a great form of exercise and FUN! My schedule is really flexable. I tend to be a night owl. I am possibly interested in competition dancing.
