I currently take private lessons 3 days a week and attend 3 hours of classes. When available, I also take 3 hour workshops on weekend. Rumba is my favorite style of dance but, I also love American waltz, Foxtrot, Nightclub 2 step, I am just learning West Coast swing, Cha-Cha and American Tango.

I do most of the ballroom dances; swing, foxtrot, west coast swing, salsa, cha cha, samba, bachata, Argentine tango, American tango, rumba, lindy hop, foxtrot, waltz, viennese waltz, quickstep, meringue, bolero, country two step, and night club two step.

In a narcissistic way. I learned to dance 20 years ago, by taking lots and lots of group lessons, then practiced at weekly dances. Like most dancers, I was knocked out of the dance world for two years. I recently got back into it and was delightfully pleased that I didn't lose any ground. Maybe a wee rusty in a few styles, but I'm working out the kinks. My three favorite dance styles are still WCS, NC2, and Argentine Tango, which I can integregate into a fusion and delectably paint the floor. During the pandemic, I substituted dance with yoga. My balancing skills have improved and I'm ready to get it going with a special partner.

I started ballroom dancing in grad school, where I competed for three years on MIT ballroom team. I've grown to love dancing as a way to relax, work out, and connect with people. I kept with it when I moved to California in 2017, where I got involved in the social ballroom scene and took standard classes with Stephen and Debbie Cullip. I moved back to Massachusetts with my family in 2020, and now that covid vaccines are widely available I am again dancing regularly as a hobby.

Dancing bachata for just under two years, mostly Modern with goals to develop Sensual this year and incorporate Bachazouk. I will add salsa and zouk once I am fluent with bachata, so I am open to working on those now as well.

I take 1-2 private lessons and 3-4 group lessons weekly. If I learn it I can teach it.

In the next couple years it would be fun to be competition-able. The fun part now is social dancing/enjoying life and being able to dance wherever I travel.

I have been a competitive ballroom dancer, teacher and performer for over 20 years. My mother was also a professional ballroom dancer. She danced with her brother Art in a lot of the big cities in the United States, But mostly in New York. When I was a senior in High School, I was voted best dancer for the yearbook. After college, I got a job at Arthur Murray's dance school. I taught at the Arthur Murray's in Wayne PA., Narberth PA. and Wilmington DE. Today I have my own dance business.

I was training in Sport Ballroom Dance in Moldova from 1994 to 1997, with a focus on the Latin program.

During this time, I successfully competed and won several Latin dance competitions.

My native language is Russian, but I have lived in the UK since 2015 and became a British citizen in 2024.

I’m in the Tampa Bay Area and have been at the bronze level at a Fred Astaire Dance Studio for about three months. I train two to three times a week after work. Foxtrot is my favorite, but I can hang with some rhythm styles as well.
