I socially danced ballroom at a beginning state years ago but gave it up over 25 years ago. I have always loved to dance and after my husband passed in 2022 I decided to bring dance back into my life.I currently take private lessons with a Competition skilled instructor 3 days a week and attend 3 hours of classes. When available, I also take 3 hour workshops on weekend. Rumba is my favorite style of dance but, I also love American waltz, Foxtrot, Nightclub 2 step, I am just learning West Coast swing, Cha-Cha and American Tango. I want to dance well showing the heart of each dance.

Started Swing (Modern Lindy Hop) in 2000. Inspired by Frankie Manning. Started Mambo (Triple Mambo) a few years later. Also dance Blues and Waltz.

I taught classes in Modern Lindy Hop for several years.

I dance in the styles as these dances came out of Harlem in the 40s. Preserving the history and spreading the knowledge and joy of 1940s' Rhythm Dance is a passion.

I am a strong yet conscientious lead. Strong on technique.

In my teaching years I was a noted Lindy technique instructor in the Swing Dance Community.

I taught approx 300 classes and courses. Organized 250+ dances. Served on the staff of 5 American Lindy Hop Championships. Formerly the founder/director of the Swing Dance Community Chapter serving Fairfield, Westchester and later, Putnam.

I would classify myself as a professional social dancer. I've never been in it to make money. Always kept fees as low as I could manage.

I always included teaching the history of the music and dance in my classes. Including how society as well as music and dance was forever changed by Swing.

I started dancing at eight years old. I began competitions at age ten. I attended tornado,juventos dance studios, and zuvedra university dance team. I recently graduated with a sport dance diploma. I'm interested in dancing international standard and latin.

Currently Bronze syllabus across most dances, but progressing quickly with strong dedication - clean basics, good frame, and solid musicality. I have extensive dance experience in ballet and modern dance from years ago. Recently, I’ve taken up salsa and want to enjoy the dance outside of the studio to perfect it on an advanced level. I'm also open to dancing other dances as well.

Every time I go to a dance or dance lesson, I come back happy and refreshed. This is why I would like to find a dancing partner to dance regularly with. My favorite dances are Argentine tango and waltz, but I have tried many other dances and like them all (one exception is perhaps contra; I like it every once in a while, but not regularly). My profile states 3 years experience. THAT experience is continuous. I have been dancing off and on since the Saturday Night Fever days including a period of continuous dancing between the mid 80s and the mid 90s.

It took me a while to discover the greet function. Now that I know about greets, I've sent several greets to women who appear to be 'close enough' to events I can attend. I've used greets to avoid using tokens. Ladies, if you respond with some kind of greet that indicates possible interest, I'll happily use tokens to send you an email.

Through some difficult and painful life lessons I am preparing to be better at life as a whole and I feel like a champion when I practice dancing(even though I haven't arrived at any medals, etc. yet). My desires are to learn to love all people, to get up after falling and hopefully learn from those experience(s) and finally to improve on the best I can be, while hopefully learning to listen to the genuine wisdom of others to blend with my own to build a better life.

To keep it short I have many interests and yes, I am willing to adapt to new ones within reason....except hard rock and heavy rap music. I am generally a quiet guy but in the right atmosphere can be quite lively and entertaining.

Another thing that I forgot to mention is that I am learning not just to enjoy events, outings, just being quiet, fun times, etc..........but, the most important point is that I am learning to treasure each moment that I am with that special someone and not take time and life and her for granted. ...... .... There is a saying that I learned sometime ago: "The only moment that we have is the moment that we are in" so, "What existed a moment ago has gone" and "will we be here in a moment from now?" Have you ever heard of the song "Love is a wonderful thing" an upbeat song sung by Michael Bolton? Love can be a super wonderful thing!...unless things get messed up then, it's very painful until healing takes place and all is sorted out.....Just some deep thoughts I wanted to share and hopefully help you out. I have been dancing ballroom and latin on and off for about 20 years but did not have a regular partner until 2019 and our progress was interrupted by covid restrictions. Unfortunately a foot injury now means my partner can no longer dance. I would say I am a proficient social dancer in ballroom and latin. I have been dancing modern jive for about twenty years and I am very good at it but go regularly to the same venue so do not need a partner for this but am very willing to int0rduce a potential partner.

Hi - I started dancing classes in January 2018 for a few terms, and post Covid I started again in 2020 - but its been somewhat sporadic, due to the need to find a dance partner and fit in classes.

I'm currently learning International Style Standard and Latin dances and been completing in both of those as a silver level pro/am couple. I have also completed in American Style Smooth and Rhythm dances at the Gold level as pro/am. I am taking private and group lessons at difference place around the DC area. I have been told that I have an excellence lead and form, dance floor present and craft, and rapid learner. I'm constantly learning and trying new material in order to give my dancing more dazzle to include tinkling with lifts and drops.

I have been a competitive ballroom dancer, teacher and performer for over 20 years. My mother was also a professional ballroom dancer. She danced with her brother Art in a lot of the big cities in the United States, But mostly in New York. When I was a senior in High School, I was voted best dancer for the yearbook. After college, I got a job at Arthur Murray's dance school. I taught at the Arthur Murray's in Wayne PA., Narberth PA. and Wilmington DE. Today I have my own dance business.
