I dance to the beat (as contrasted to the "form"), 6- or 8 count, incorporating moves that bring pleasure in their execution. I have been told that I am a good dancer. I am a strong leader and seek a dance partner who understands what "frame" is about. I enjoy dancing to the big band music of the 40s and 50s and to the blues. I seek out dance venues that offer live bands.

I have been attending dance venues in Philadelphia, Lancaster and surrounding areas in Berks, Bucks, Leghigh and Montgomery counties outside of Philadelphia.

I am open to hosting you in my home if you live a distance for which it would be impractical for you to return home after an dance. In the Fall and Spring, I am open to attending a dance with you if you live a distance too far for me to return home afterwards. In my "younger" days, I hiked and backpacked. Today, roads are my trails and my mini-van is outfitted as my tent and backback.

I have always been musical and dance is an extension of that. If dances don't open up again soon, I'll have forgotten everything which is not that bad as I enjoy dance classes. Dancing is a great way to socialize and a terrific way to spend a night out but if I don't keep dancing I lose the steps- both ballroom and Latin. Ballroom tango was my favourite except I don't remember any of it!

I have taken some hip-hop classes. But Learning Bachata for the past year. Would like someone to practice with so we can get better.

Have danced about 30 years; competed 14 yr at OH Star Ball and other competitions (pro-Am and amateur couple), but very few from 2001-now (usually small local comps). Am interested in social dancing, having a practice partner, possibly 'showcases'. Have done open Am Smooth and Standard routines, competed at Gold Std level in past (pro-Am). Really love to glide to foxtrot music and have fun with salsa/mambo. Have dabbled with WCS and hustle, not as proficient in those but enjoy them. I'd like to dance more and set goals, but am not so much interested in making it 'hard work'. I like a variety of music (for ballroom), and also jazz and 'funky' music; not so much interested in country-type dance/music. Enjoy the feel and expression of dance and like to feel a good connection with my partner. Note: I am not a current member, thus I may reply to Gold and Token e-mails, but not Silver e-mails (which require membership for both parties).

When I was younger, I loved to dance and even competed in various competitions. However, life took a different turn, and I stopped dancing for over 20 years. I miss it deeply, as dancing was such an important part of my life, and I truly enjoyed every moment of it.

I've been dancing my whole life, first danced ballet since I was 6, and then started ballroom training about 5 years ago, mainly focusing on international standard and latin style.

I'm currently dancing in Pro/Am category. Some of my recent achievements include the winner of the Embassy championship, and California Open Championship.

Looking to learn how to dance and meet people

I have been dancing on and off for many years, but not actively. I took plenty of classes but only danced socially infreqquently and mostly with my ex. I want to get back to social dancing and to recover my skills to at least an intermediate level. I'm planning to resume taking dancing lessons too.

I was born in Spain and grew up in Toronto and Montreal. My First experience in the formal arts of movement was therefore Flamenco and Spanish Folk Dancing.

I learned to move to the music as opposed to IN SPITE OF THE MUSIC- like they train "dancers" now.

I've danced and trained-from Ballet to African...Flamenco;Ukrainian;Turkish ;jazz and all of the Ballroom dances including Salsa.

I have danced at Carnegie Hall, N.Y. ; R.T.H.,Toronto toured the Ukraine ; Mexico

Not the average beer drinking, TV watching, middle of the road male! Tertiary educated, keen ballroom dancer, I value clear communication, respect for individuality, self-determination and the rights of all sentient beings. I seek health and constant learning over material possessions. My life style reflects my reasoning. My Chinese astrological sign is the fire boar! A healthy life style has become very important since I realized that without health money and possessions are useless. I try to live in harmony with existence and to me this means: - a 85% raw vegan diet which also excludes most animal products, avoiding as far as possible processed food, - a healthy life style which excludes all kind of drugs, prescribed or not; - exercise in the form of dancing: Ballroom (Latin, modern, and new vogue), and Taiichi and martial arts; - keeping my mind, body and spirit in balance by meditation, being aware of, and attempting to change the social and physical environment. I came to Australia in 1980, for many years I worked with computers but starting in 2000 I studied Mediation and Counselling. Currently retired and I spend a lot of time reading about alternative views of health, world politics, conspiracy theories; I practice Tai-Chi daily at Hazelwood Park and dancing in the evenings when I have a partner. I would like to live closer to nature but for the time being I live in Glenside.

Appearance:

I am 177 cm, medium built, reasonably fit, physically and intellectually active. I prefer to dress comfortable and casual. In my previous line of work I was required to wear formal business clothes. I am quite flexible about it.

I am Irish, love to dance, sing, play the celtic drum, walk in nature, write poetry, travel and of course dance tango which is my favourite! I have most dance experience with Argentine Tango but open to learning other dances. I have some experience with Swing, Cuban Salsa and Rock 'n Roll. It would be nice to go social dancing on the weekend and perhaps train once a week.
