I'm a social ballroom dancer who also likes to compete and go to social dances in public venues as well as studio parties. I love period balls (Colonial, Jane Austen, Civil War) and Viennese Balls. I started ballroom dancing in the '80's, danced for a couple years, branched off into contra and got back into ballroom on a regular basis in 2007.

At this point I only know American Style ballroom, and lately I've been exploring my inner cowgirl by dancing CW. If I pick up International it's going to be like way down the road, unless I start dancing in Europe. I took private lessons at a small studio in Alexandria which followed the Fred Astaire syllabus and now take lessons at a studio in Fairfax which follows the DVIDA syllabus. I have competed at the Bronze and Silver level in small local one-day competitions. I also enjoy performing showcases.

While competing Pro-Am is fun, I really enjoy competing as an amateur, since you and your partner are equally responsible for the performance, not to mention it's a lot more economical.

Greetings to all. I have been dancing on and off since 2003. But have taken up Argentine Tango seriously since 2009 and go out at least 4-6 times a week. Argentine tango is very challenging and hence addictive. When schedule permits I also go out to Salsa, WCS & Ballroom.

Hi I have developed a great interest in dancing and learning more. I'm currently learning smooth and rythym dances and take classes 4 times a week. I'd love to go out to dances and practice and enjoy dance even more. I'm fairly new but am getting better everyday and have been told I'm a good dancer!!!

I am not techie at all LOL I started learning two-step and swing in March 2014 with Ed Failing at the Cowboy Palace in Chatsworth. I joined Square Dance clubs in the San Fernando, Simi Valley & Santa Clarita Valley in September 2014. Now Feb 2022, I am a strong A-2 Square dancer (girl) and okay (boy), I’m learning C-1. I was a good beginner Phase ll and lll round dancer in Two-Step, Waltz and Cha before Covid (need a partner to renew). I would like to learn more round dance but lack a practice partner. I also need a partner for square dancing (dances, workshops and festivals). My country two-step, swing,waltz &Cha Cha has fallen to the wayside the last couple of years but I would like to get back to that now. I also have interest in Victorian Dances, East Coast Swing and Lindy. I have been doing some social ballroom dancing and I’m told I follow well but I need someone to practice with. I’m not looking for someone to date....I just want to dance!

I love ballroom dancing especially American Smooth. I enjoy Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango & Viennese Waltz. I currently take 4 private lessons a month at Fred Astaire working on polishing my technique and movement. Danced at family parties my whole life but want to learn to dance with a partner.

I've taken up dancing a few times throughout my life, but as of 2019, I've stuck with it, and I'm taking it seriously. I'm tired of taking weekly classes, with sparse opportunities to practice, drill, experiment, and improve. I want to advance my repertoire, exploring moves and figures that require too much practice/focus to learn to be included in drop-in lessons. I want to practice until we display effortless expertise on the social floor. And if an opportunity for competition comes up, I wouldn't object to that, either.

As a single person who has just found out about Ballroom dancing and currentl on a 10 week taster course I've realised I need a dance partner to progress

For Latin, I have competed in various of competitions. At the USA Dance National, Novice category, I placed final once, and semi-final last year. For Pre-Championship level, my previous partner and I got into quarter-final last year.

My Standard is at Silver syllabus level.

Had a partner a few years ago for private salsa lessons but hurt my foot so I had to stop. I miss it greatlyso would love to find someone to pick it up again.
