I began dancing at a local studio on the Northwest Side of Chicago in mid-July 2021. On less than four months' notice, I was invited by the owners to perform in their annual non-competitive exhibition gala in early-December. Most dancers at the studio are long-time amateurs and usually practice 7-8 months in choreographed routines. I had a busy personal schedule, but was enthusiastic and performed a mix of bronze and silver steps in the American Rumba. My routine went well.

I'm 57 and athletic. To save time at work, I routinely skip the elevator and run up and down multiple flights of stairs with heavy boxes during the day so I can better meet the demands of my job. In "student versus staff" athletic events, I am older than most of the staff participants by well over 20 years. I have no age preferences (younger or older) regarding women whom I am open to having as a partner. I simply want a woman who is athletic, easygoing, and is dancing for the joy and passion of it.

Private lessons at the studio I attend are among the lowest in the city and the instructors have taken private lessons from some of the world’s best dancers. The studio has very low turnover and a majority of the dancers are everyday people with busy lives who have, nonetheless, stayed 10 years or more. Everyone is very supportive and cheers on each dancer. At studio parties, married couples and singles know each other well and regularly switch partners. As a newcomer, I was welcomed with open arms. Everyone is friendly and welcoming, offering abundant praise at even my smallest dance step "triumphs". There are no cliques. The owners have done it strictly for the passion and joy of dancing. The gala is one way they show appreciation for their dancers - not to promote their studio (The audience is private.) - but simply to thank their dancers.

I'm new to ballroom dancing, but have fallen in love with it since I started. I dance every day and am dedicated to bettering myself and my technique. I want to dance competitively and socially. I practice Monday-Friday at with a private instructor, do group lessons on Monday and Fridays and go to socials on Friday nights. Each Saturday I attend leading classes as well.

I started dancing socially in college but danced competitively my senior year of college. Currently, I am dancing Pro/Am in American Smooth and working towards adding in Standard. My goals include working toward dancing and competing at the Rising Star level one day.

I originally started dancing at the ages of 3 but stopped for a number of years. I have been dancing competitions for about 10 years now. I recently relocated to Belgium from South Africa for my studies and therefore ended up not having a partner. I currently still train alone and would like to start dancing competitions again with a partner. I am very dedicated and always try my best.

I had danced in the UK university circuit for three years before I stopped due to relocation.

The best result I got was final in intermediate ballroom in IVDC.

I've been taking ballroom dance lessons for six years at Arthur Murray Folsom. I've dance in a showcase in London, and also one at Tahoe, but am humble, because I'm still only in Bronze 2. So what I need is more practice, than that requires a practice partner. I am older than most, but active and energetic, and have no trouble doing a lively Lindy hop or polka as well as other styles. I'd like to improve my technique and leading skills, and help you along the way as well. I can provide some extra dancing benefits. I've been dancing for about 20 years. I enjoy dancing country western steps such as the two step, polka and waltz. I also like dancing swing to classic rock, classic soul, and big band swing. I dance a 'slot' swing using the quick/quick, slow/slow rythm (such as the country and western two step). I also like to dance to salsa music using the bachata or merinque steps. Many people have commented that I have a smooth dance style with very quick feet.

Ballroom, Lindy and Country Ballroom. I run a youth formation team as well as teach dance at a K-5 school full t8 e.

I already have a life partner but she has some physical limitations so I'm looking for a dance partner without a romantic relationship. A good friendship and good partner chemistry would be nice though.

Fairly new to ballroom. Willing to work hard to improve! I've been taking group lessons for about a year now in various styles but I feel my progress has been limited without a dedicated partner with whom to practice. Would be looking to practice/take lessons three times a week and once (maybe longer) on the weekends. I am very open to competing if my partner wants to do so but would not rule out a partner who prefers practice and social dancing at this point.

In 1996, I started ballroom and east coast swing while studying for bar. After a 5-year hiatus to focus on practicing law, I started salsa in 2002. A year later, I got back into ballroom and have since completed a teacher training program. I've ballroom danced on TV (enough to qualify for SAG), and I've done a number of amateur dance competitions (with hope to do more). I have danced completely around the world as a social dance host on a cruise line. On top of practicing law in Pasadena, I teach beginners how to dance and try to go social dancing at least 2-3 times a week. I'm all in!
