I have a love of dancing and also the social side of it. I have been dancing for 4 years and am completely open to learning more at dance classes. I enjoy New Vogue, ballroom, 4 step jive and the Occasional line dance. I enjoy dancing at clubs and at dances.

I like to polka (fast waltz, as I understand it, but like playing rummy, people have different styles) and 3-step best - basically I like to fly and cover a lot of ground. I can and will 2-step if the song is fast enough that I can’t keep a polka up, but I find it lop-sided as half my body gets worked more than the other - definitely invented by cowboys with back problems, but I’m a Texan thru and thru and will always honor the traditional dances.

I love live music and will travel pretty far to find it, but I can’t dance alone, hence this search. My last dance partner lives in Austin and used to come to Houston for work, but not since Covid. Houston’s dancehalls are all closing, so I will travel for good music and a good dance floor - especially if I have someone to dance with. I love old dancehalls with real hardwoods best - big with lots of room - and I prefer live music, but dancing is like breathing for me, so I will dance to my iPhone in my living room when I can’t go out (sanded mesquite hardwoods and over 1,000 square feet with pathways for moving).

I rarely sit a song out, so please have stamina or be willing to treat dance night as your Cardio workout for the week. I have 2 kids and a demanding career, so I’m not looking for anything romantic unless that comes naturally. I just want to have some plain clean fun dancing. I miss the days when guys would ask girls they’ve never met to dance - if you want to dance with other girls, I’m all for it - just give me my fair share unless some other guys get up the nerves to ask me. I enjoy all kinds of music and dancing, and I’m open to trying new stuff, but country-western is my favorite - especially the upbeat polkas - so I’m looking for someone who can keep up and enjoys that as well. I don’t like tons of spinning - I like to fly on the dance floor.

I travel regularly to watch rodeos, explore new horseback riding experiences, trying to frequent the Western heritage towns and venues to help keep them going and as investigative work for a family-friendly dancehall I am trying to open in Houston once the pandemic subsides. So I’m open to traveling, but if a good dance partner surfaces from this, I’d want him to travel my way too - or meet in the middle. My boys are 8 and 2 and I’m trying to teach my son to dance, so I also love community dance halls like the VA and KofC halls.

I\'ve always enjoyed dancing. I\'ve been involved in theatre productions(all Musicals), ballroom dancing on and off in the past 3 years and started taking lessons again and I especially like the latin dances. I also continously take ballet and jazz. I am hoping that I will have time for tap and some hip hop in the near future. I am also a drummer. I still try to jam with friends and create new music but I\'m not in a band that\'s serious at the moment.

I am often mistaken for being in my 40's as my joy and dancing keep me young and alive.

I used to dance quite a bit when I lived in Edmonton, mostly with the U of A Dance Club. I had taken lessons up to Bronze with that club. In 2008 I blew out my knee and haven't done much dancing since then.

I am a quick study who is very good at following a strong leader. I was dancing 4 nights a week in the early 2000s and attended several weekend dance events, but then met my current domestic partner of 10+ years. He is willing to dance but not motivated to get good at it. So I haven't been dancing regularly, just in spurts. I first danced in 5th grade, and have loved it ever since. However, formal training began 5 years ago.

Dance is now my passion. My engineering and formal music training give me a technical perspective and my jazz improvisational experience gives me the creativity that helps me excel.

I have taken lessons off and on since 2000 in Seattle, Cincinnatti, Ithaca and Binghamton. Some of my best work comes from studying video of classes. I learn best by repeating from good examples.

The passion and spice of Latin most draws me. However, you can't beat Waltzing to Moonlight Serenade or Fox Trotting to Sinatra. And, I've got the legs for both.

Also, what's that song, "Dancing in the moonlight..."? I've never danced to it, but it has to be a great song for swing!
