I danced competitive for 8 years and at university after starting at 14, training every day and reaching the top level in ballroom (standard) in the university circuit, as well as competing in the open circuit with good results. I’m a ballroom lady so would be happy to do a bit of Latin here and there but it’s not my strength :)

After university work took up most of my time but now I’m a bit more settled I’m keen to get back into the swing of things.

I LOVE the dancing, and for me it’s about dancing itself not the craziness of competition. Looking to train a few times per week and in the weekend and take regular private lessons with a top teacher we both like.

So for now I’m looking to practice regularly and if that goes well maybe the occasional competition or show would be fun too.

Location: I'm based in central London and can travel by public transport, but don't have a car. I am 1:74cm so need a tall partner as I have long legs.

Coming from a small town "no dance" background in Iowa, when I became single again in the early 1990s, I told myself, OK, get rid of that neurosis (that awful self-consciousness and lack of body integration with music, although I am musical you bet, having had one of those Iowa "music man" backgrounds for men's quartets, band, even sung soprano before my voice changed in a girl's madrigal). I'm not a performance dancer; I'm a partnered mystical in-touch dancer when the partner likes my vibes and like it when my partner almost leads I am such close touch and she is, too. I've been up to speed out at a country-rock live venue with a partner having enough fun that we've been asked if we're teachers. I've done Schottish on a Norwegian Fiord cruise dance floor with snow-covered mountains sliding by so well, even down on my knee that we got a round of applause. But I've also been awkward and stiff and out of it (trying to get Argentine Tango going) or out of practice so that I've thought, jeez, maybe I don't have enough momentum to keep going with this. But then I remember how many times I've offered to waltz with a total newbie and left her smiling and feeling "love it; like the movies; I can do it!" I love movie buddies and other dating fun. And I can live where I want to, but tend to spend summers in Michigan and much of the year in Portland and South Bay environs near San Francisco to be near daughters.

The first partner to get me going was a bold brown-eyed blond maternity nurse who called after I started dance lessons and said she needed a partner, and away we went. But sometimes she would say "What was that?" and I would say, "Now Lynne, that ain't the way to talk to a man." She was the first dancer in those days who trusted me enough that when I came to a corner doing the Texas two-step, she wouldn't look over her shoulder like almost all traditionally socialized, cautious about men women would, even after I had danced her into a post a time or two.

If dating evolves, I prefer women who have been there, done that, and it didn't work out so well with going by the "rules" and playing Cinderella. I see it for our generation as OK, we're equally responsible for phoning, e-mailing, coming up with fun things to do, making the first move (if it comes to that), and calling a spade a spade. Some fancy Belgium feminist cultural theorist said something about, start ground zero, with your nature, and take that where it goes, both the guy an gal. End of space.

Salsa bachata free dance

I have been dancing for several years during school, then I had to stop training because of university. Now I got back to the rhythm and training for competiotion in latin and standard dances. Beside that I am willing to go to some salsa, batchata or kizomba night where I can practise and just move for the music... :)

I took dance lessons and dance at studio socials for years. Then I started taking Argentine tango lessons and fell in love with those. Now, I'm primarily interested in and most skilled at Argentine Tango. I can also do Salsa/Mambo, Foxtrot, Quickstep, Waltz, Rumba, Hustle, and Swing. And I'm very good at roller skating.

I love dancing but have always had a tough time loosening up. I am now venturing into places out of my comfort zone to grow as a dancer.

Hi, I recently arrived to Toronto from Europe to push on my career in the field of architecture. As I was dancing all my life, I want to continue to dance here and in Toronto. I was a professional dancer up to 11 form at school. Used to dance all 10 Latin and Standard dances in adolescence and adult catheters. I also participated in the professional competitions as well. During my studies in high school I had to quit dancing of intensive studies. But during that time, I was dancing for my own pleasure not professionally.

I prefer to dance slow waltz, Vienna waltz, foxtrot, tango and quickstep.

I’ve been attracted to try other dances and took classes: hip hop, Afro house, sexy heels, bachata (tradition and sensual) and Kizomba. My first kizomba instructors were: Tony Pirata, Morenasso and Anais, Felicien and Isabelle. I’ve dance for 4 years in Paris. When I moved to New York in 2016 I’ve learn sensual bachata and took some urban Kizomba classes. My passion for Kizomba and urban Kiz is very strong. I’m looking today for a partner to get to an other level. I would love to start making video, create choreographies, inspire people.
