I enjoy all types of dance but I have been learning ballroom dancing for the last nine months with a dance teacher.

I am a board member for an USA Dance Chapter in North Carolina. I dance socially as well as compete. I have competed in North Carolina, in New York City and at USA Dancesport Nationals in Baltimore, Maryland. I have placed with a partner as high as 3rd in Latin and made the semi-finals for Standard in our categories at the USA Dancesport Nationals in 2016. I want to continue to improve and place. I haven't competed in American styles for a while, and would be willing to dance American as well.

I am finally in the phase of my life when i can really start dancing and competing. I have been spending more time training, and trying to increase my stamina for competitions by running and yoga.I have also started martial Tai Chi.

I've taught ballroom/social dance for 25 plus years. I'm happily married with 6 children and 3 grand children, My wife is fine with me pursuing excellence in dance. I train 4-6 days/week lifting weights to build a huge repertoire of beautiful moves with a dance colleague (open/aerial too) who's committed as well.

From watching the "Solid Gold" show as a child and taking 2 and 1/2 years of dance class as a young adult, I have been dancing since I could walk. My Mother even says I would dance in the womb when music came on. I was born to dance, but haven't danced much in the last few years. Dancing will always be in my blood and soul! :-)

I've taken various dance classes from various instructors and enjoy many forms of dancing. I most enjoy ballroom, country, latin and contra. I dance 3-4 times a week at various locations and I'm wiling to drive up to 1-1/2 hrs each way.

I come from a music background so timing won't b a problem and... oh yeah.. I now wish my background would be a professionaly trained dancer in other dance skills with 23 years of experience. lol :D. So I have no previous dancing experience, except for world/folk dancing that I did for a year (not really seriously tho) when I was really young. lol :). I am a 'stronger' lead in LA/NY than cuban style on1... but like I said earlier I'd be willing to learn other styles (including rueda/cuban wheel) and to dance it on other beats of the music. I also like bachata and merengue and I'd also be open to learn even other dances too even tho i'd b a complete beginner then.
