Fell in love with dance as I learned it while studying abroad in the Dominican Republic. I've been socially dancing ever since and encountered some ballroom from someone I was dating.

Looking for some joy during the pandemic! I'm fairly proficient in salsa, bachata, and cha cha with some experience in rumba, waltz, jive, hustle, and foxtrot. Open to learning new styles and getting on track to perform or compete.

I'm good looking, in great shape (6'2"/185 lbs), but old!

I have been dancing since I was little, although it wasn’t until two years ago that I discovered Latin dance. I love it so much! For the first year I was taking classes/going to socials about 5x a week. I haven’t been able to partner dance since before the pandemic so I’m looking for someone to be my lead to take classes (virtual) and practice with. We would have to take COVID precautions and be each other’s only partner.

I dance 3 to 4 times a week plus group and private. I have a passion for the latin dances and the Waltz. I dance ballroom on Tuesday and Tango on Sunday. Presently Argentine Tango is my greatest passion and Cita is home to me. I was taking private with Christine Perez before she and her husband Jerry moved to Ca. When Jerry and Christine visit south florida, I attend their workshops and take more privates with her.

I came 2nd in Latin, Champions of Tomorrow comp. ProAm Teacher/student Comp. Blackpool 2017.

Previously: I was 2nd in Beginners Over 45's Latin at Champions of Tomorrow, Blackpool 2015.

I also took part in a Charity 'Strictly-type' Comp. at the Tower Ballroom, Birmingham, in Nov. 2015, dancing as the 'Pro-dancer', which was great fun, especially as we won! (We did a Samba which included a Drop-Kick, a Lift & a Bum-Spin in true 'Strictly'-style!)

Although preferring to develop in all 10 dances, I will specialize in either Ballroom or Latin for the right partner.

I don't know what else to say about me ...

Ok ... I believe the best dancers are those who feel the music in their soul, & express that through their dancing ... I started ballet classes at the age of 4 & have been dancing ever since!

I've been told 'I'm very light to dance with' & that 'I follow really well'.

I'd love to do competitions with a like-minded partner having the same passion, dedication & commitment to improve.

I'm no diva, nor do I like being shouted at, so dancing with someone who is 'nice' is as important as having a partner with ambition.

I ticked the 'Christian/other' box, because I try to live my life according to Christ's message of Love & Peace, which for me, also encompasses a Buddhistic lifestyle.

I'm still looking for my own comp. partner wanting to compete in Pre-champ or Seniors.

I lived in Australia for many years, having an academic career in a sequence of disciplines including nuclear magnetic resonance, microwave antenna design, astronomy, numerical analysis, computer graphics, computer animation, and dance notation.

One abiding interest has been nature and ecology. I still am webmaster for a large website about Australian Butterflies and Moths.

Another abiding interest has been Ballroom and Latin Dancing. I was a Dance Host on the Queen Mary 2 for a month in 2012 when it sailed around Australia. I subsequently spent several years teaching at the Byrnes Dance Image dance studio in Sydney before returning to UK.

I am a belly dancer by training, but have always wanted to move into the ballroom competition world. I dance salsa, bachata, and kizomba socially. I train and perform in Brazilian carnival style Samba.

I've had a couple years of ballroom and latin lessons but only got about 1/3 through American Bronze. But since October of 2007 I have been mostly concentrating on Argentine Tango. I dance mostly traditional Argentine Tango milonguero/salon style close embrace as a social dance here in Gainesville, Tampa, St. Petersburg, Miami, Sarasota and Tallahassee, Florida. I have also traveled a lot for festivals, marathons and encuentros. I went to Buenos Aires in August 2010 and danced for 12 nights, 85 different women.

We have a lot of Tango activity here in Gainesville with several teachers, practicas, regular weekly milonga, visiting teachers and workshops. I take a lot of lessons, workshops and privates and have been dancing since 2007. Since 2009 I have been 3-7 times a week/1000 hrs/yr. I go to the milonga every Saturday night and since January 16, 2011 I have been a milonga organizer, DJ and an assistant teacher. I go out dancing every weekend.

Covid-19 update: I have not danced or socialized since March 2020 when the lockdown began and am waiting until significant changes occur before going out again.

I love to dance but I don't have a partner at the moment and I'd love to go dancing or even competition dancing. My dance teacher believes I'm a natural and can pick up any style of dance fast or slow no matter the type I love it all!

I'm not sure about those skill level descriptors. I'm a good dancer. Not a pro, but not a beginner. I'm not at my best now of course because of lack of practice. I'm interested in any type of dancing. Most of the boxes I checked above are dances I know how to do, but some I checked just because they look interesting and I wouldn't mind learning them. I mostly do line dancing now - don't have to worry about finding a partner, just find my friends. I line dance twice a week most weeks. But I love to partner dance when I can find a partner - which is rare. I've always wanted to have a dedicated partner with whom I can work and get better as a couple. I feel I have it in me to be really good, but I need a same person to dance with long-term. I'm good at following a good lead and that's where I've learned most everything I know. I've taken very few formal lessons, just enough to get the basic and then I learn by dancing with men who know moves and turns they can teach me. But I'd like to take lessons as well as spend fun time practicing with my partner.

I danced when I was young and would like to learn new dances.

New to Dallas/Ft Worth area from East Coast. Looking for Argentine Tango practica and partner (s). I am still at Advanced Beginner level, and hopelessly determined to move on. Male or female partners welcome, as I would also like to learn to leading skills, do that I may be a better follower. However I would ultimately prefer to find a strong lead to practice with regularly.

I love Ballroom Dancing and would like a suitable female partner to share my joy. I am honest and truthful in my dealings, and would expect my partner to be so also.
