Love to dance free style; also waltz and other more traditional dances

It is difficult to find the right partner from reading only a bio. I am willing to travel to or part way to test out dancing together. Trying out dancing together along with conversation is, I believe, the only way to find the right dance partner. I trained for 14 years in ballet. Shortly after entering the pro division, covid arrived and we were sent home, as most were, to await further instruction. It was during this time that I discovered ballroom and absolutely fell in love with it. I have been teaching and competing in ballroom for 4.5 years, but have not yet found the right partner; someone who is as dedicated to growing into a partnership thru working together and accomplishing common goals.

I am looking for the person that wants a strong dance partnership and to continue competing.

Only swing, I like music from the 50's and lots of older swing. I have traveled a a large part of the country for workshops, now I just want to dance!

I danced Argentine Tango for 4 years quite a while ago while living in The Netherlands. I recently picked it back up to improve my dancing and I am also learning how to lead now. A partner that can switch between leading and following would be nice but it's not a must.

My primary dance is Argentine Tango/Milonga/Vals (I have studied with many of the Argentine maestros at conferences). I also do Salsa/Merengue/Cumbia, different styles of Swing, and social Ballroom. I have learned some other dance styles, such as: Israeli folkdancing, Flamenco, African dancing and a few others.

I'm an open level dancer in Standard and Smooth. Won the Gold Smooth at the US National Championships (2012) and the World Masters Championship Smooth at the Yankee Classic (June 2012) and several other Championship Smooth competitions recently. As for standard, I've made finals at in Pre-Champ Standard at MIT.

I forget all else when I dance. I am energetic, warm and relational.

My dance experience began in high school with modern dance and jazz training but I much prefer social dancing. A large empty room with floating dance floor does beckon me from time to time, however. Dance is a creative outlet for me and very gratifying, fulfilling.

Some of my favorites include night club two step, west coast swing and all steps in country dance.

I am comfortable in a pair of jeans at home, in a remote part of the mountains, or in formal wear for an evening out on the town. Have lived in the country and the city, am adaptable, and enjoy humor. I want to live life to the fullest and dance all of my life. I have learned to be "content in all things."

I am comfortable in my singleness and hope to meet other dancers to dance with locally and am hoping to find a partner for life, as well.

Very serious about dance as a sport. Athletic, in excellent physical condition and with a very high level of energy. Trained by a 3 times world champion in Jive/Swing, including complex aerials and lifts. Trained own partner in Swing/Jive to place 4th in Nationals (Switzerland) and compete in internationals. I've taken dance lessons at Austin Uptown Dance and attended social dances there and at Go Dance a few yrs ago, and do social dancing at clubs and dance halls occassionally and really, since I was in my 20s.

I am a former Associate Silver student, and have a background on belly dancing. I also enjoy social dancing salsa, bachata, and some Goth/Industrial club dancing too. I have a few showcases and competitions under my belt, but I'm more a performer than a technician. We do know technique is still important thought!

I have been practicing ballroom dances 8 years on E class competitions. Moved lately to Stockholm and want to continue practicing dance 2-4 times in week - need to lose some kilos :-) I prefer 10-dance, but swing, salsa or bugg will do as well.

My instructor says I'm at intermediate level in Salsa. I've been dancing solo (free style) all my life since I was a teen. I still love its free expression, but partnered dancing is more fun, and at moments, magnificent. After having had to be responsible for a lot in my life, following a leader is the sweetest freedom for me.
