No real dance background. I took a number of Arthur Murray dance lessons when I was young but I don't remember any of it. I seem to be drawn to Swing dancing. I would like to become good at it. I'm very agile and can move like any 20 year old even if I am much older 😉

I've been with several local branches of a franchised studio for eight years. i've done 5 public showcase acts (3 with my wife and our instructors) and about ten Pro-Am competitions. Waltz is by far my favorite dance. My studio doesn't teach International waltz, but I've learned some on my own and would like to get some practice. I also like foxtrot, rumba, and merengue, and would like to get good at salsa.

I dance at Infinity Ballroom Charlotte and I am competing at the Silver -Gold level but will train a Bronze dancer. I am seeking an amateur partner to practice, share lessons and reach higher levels. I am a fast learner with good agility and 100% dance effort. My goal is to improve in the ISTD syllabus of all dance categories and to enter competitions and showcase events. I am staying in the USA Dance amateur status even though I can teach, I find the competitions more competitive. I have competed in 14 comps, sometimes up to 80 heats. I like someone who takes initiative. I work in commercial real estate with wilkinson era real estate which is my career and main education and business and I manage dance events at the infinity ballroom.

I mostly train for International style and also enjoy and compete in American style, whatever we are best to work on. My current competitions include American and International Silver and Open Silver Latin 5 dance. Dancing is my passion and my life long goal is to reach proficiency at the Champ level, but I am keeping my day job! I also volunteer at usa dance because I believe in giving back the dance passion to others. I have competed in about 14 USA Dance Amateur events with the local charlotte dancesport teams and with a variety of partners in Bronze and Silver in American and International.

I'm an older, in-shape tournament tennis player (World 55 Champion and U.S.champion many times, years ago) who is very serious about getting back into dancing. I love the beat and sound of Latin music, especially Samba and Cha Cha....also East and West Coast Swing. I'm not that experienced with Salsa, but definitely willing to learn more, and American standard Waltz and Foxtrot are also enjoyable.

Country dancing, 2- step, progressive, waltz. Started taking West coast swing in September 2022, at Studio 22 I'm in the level 2 class, group classes 2x a week. Take a hustle class once a week. Have had 5 private lessons, plan on taking more.

I was in my university's dance team for 2 years - stopped at the start of intermediate levels, and loved all 10 dances. Since then, I've taken mostly social dance classes (salsa, rueda, swing, etc.). I love partner dancing and want to continue to develop my skills.

Former basic ballroom instructor. Better then average dancer. Very much enjoy "street" style dancing with improvised moves. Hustle is my fave and am fairly fluent in that area. I enjoy East Coast Swing and currently working on Country 2-Step, West Coast Swing and Salsa. Hitting a social dance floor or nightclub is the best way to go.

I study with my teacher twice a week, usually practice 1 to 2 hours and then social dance at least once a week. I am looking to improve to move up into the next bronze level. I enjoy both rhythm and smooth.

I used to dance a lot. Then I got married to an older man who was a good dancer, but just didn't want to dance as often. He has passed away, and I would really like to get back into dancing more often and improving my dance level. I believe the Latin dances are my best but I do a little of everything, including zydeco.

I have been actively dancing and competing for about 5 years now. I train in the International style Standard and Latin dances, although I do compete in the American styles too just for fun.

Dancing is my passion and I have a lot of fun, whether during dance lessons or at social dances. At the same time though, I am VERY serious about my dancing and work hard at it. My strength lies in Latin; I currently dance in Gold but I'm hoping to quickly improve and move into Open very soon. I dance Silver-Gold Standard, and probably Gold for the American styles.

EDIT 9/28/15: Scratch that part about Standard for now. I just paired up with a Prechamp dancer. Guess I'm dancing Open Standard now! He'll be graduating in a year, so I'd still love to meet other Standard dancers since I might need a new partner in a year... although the proficiency level I'll be competing at, at that time, will depend on how this year goes :)

My other dance backgrounds include Chinese dance, some Hip Hop, and my first ballroom coach was more of a Modern/Jazz dancer... these varied training has helped me develop good movement quality. At the same time, I am the kind who will pore over the syllabus books and run drills over and over again to make sure I get my technique down right.

I used to dance at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and I also founded the ballroom team at Johns Hopkins University. I am currently dancing with the MIT team, since I recently moved to Boston :)
